Other then the pretty decent costumes from the play, are there any other costumes you can get from Nam Cobanda Isle?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Yes, you can get the costume for completing the Miska Doctoral Degree Quiz. It makes Rita look like a goth mage. You need to talk to him, and than find five books. If you want the locations I will post them in spoiler form. Also isn't Nam Cobanda Isle in Tales of Abyss as well?

Aha! Take that Soriku, another link has been found. Now if only I can find a link to Tales of Symphonia.

Few comments on your spoilers (but mine aren't blacked out): 1. You won't regret playing on normal. The game's battle system has a learning curve associated with it. If your willing to *not* button mash in battles, and use actual strategy through well placed combos and blocking, you'll have no problems. Once you get to the overworld, fight a few dozen battles to "figure it all out". Being a relative Tales newbie, I died on the same boss you did - once. However, I am 10hrs in, and the only time I died was against him. I got beat up pretty badly by the demo game boss, but beat him too. 10hrs in, the game is VERY solid, and the story is very good. The game rivals Dragon Quest VIII in terms of polish, and overall feel. However, Yuri Lowell is one of the best (if not THE) lead JRPG characters to emerge since.......Terra from FFVI, or Cecil from FFIV.

Thanks. I´ve been playing for 15 hours now and just got through Keiv Moc Forest. I have to say that I´m loving this game.
I hadn´t played a JRPG since FF XII, simply because that game made me lose my faith in these types of game. But while in FFXII I couldn´t care less about the characters, I´m loving the ToV ones.
Obviously they are nothing new or ground-breaking, but they sure are done in a way that makes you care. I love those little skits (when you press BACK). They can be very funny.
Yes, I ´m really enjoying Yuri too. Head strong with a heart of gold. I had a little trouble with how easily Karol and Rita joined my party, but it wasn´t so bad.
As for the combat, just like you, I have not died again from any boss battle. The hardest one was that monster that Rita said that attacked Hallure. Karol died twice and Yuri once. But the others did their share and I won.
From that point on, the boss battles have become really easy. I learned to take my time, keep Yuri at a safe distance first, then attack when I see an opening and then back away again. I have to say I am really enjoyig the battle system. They keep adding more depth to it, little by little so that you don´t feel overwhelmed.
So, in summary, this is a great game, not perfect, but it made me regain my faith in JRPG.

Nam cobanda Isle is kind of the Tales series trademark place now. Most people just call it namco bandailand anyway. I think its a pretty neat way to pay homage to your company.

I'm 25 hours in, and so far this is one of my favorite games this generation. Can't give a full review until completion, but needless to say this game has been 25 hours of sheer joy for me so far. Try cranking up the battles to hard once you've power-leveled, so you can rank up your combo count.
Remember you can chain base arts, arcane arts, and burst arts.
Overlimit1 - Attackx4 - Shining Fang - Shining Dragon Swarm - Divine Wolf - Fatal Strike
BIIIIG combo damage.
Also, don't forget all altered arts have special conditions for their unlocking. Here are a few things I've learned.
1. Up on the directional pad when you're on the field, zooms in.
2. Base and arcane arts chain. Only arcane arts can activate burst arts.
3. You add accessories in the same screen where you change your title.
4. Always synthisize.
5. Cooking is very important. Later on it's like being able to rest at an inn 15 times over the course of a dungeon, and also gives you stat boosts which are great for certain bosses.
6. You can't change characters during battle or change your main character until you've crafted 2 items via synthesis.
7. The secret missions are hard sometimes(Mission 4) but they give you a 10 pt score bonus, extra items from the boss, and an achievement. There are 22 of them.
8. Rb in town makes you strike a pose.
9. Taunting is a great way to build up your Overlimit before a boss.
10. You can change the difficulty in the settings menu.
11. You can cook stat enhancing meals right before a boss battle.
12. Never stick to one attack for too long. Use it 101 times and move on to attacks that you've used less than 100 times.
13. Always upgrade to the best gear at every chance, but remember to finish learning skills from lower gear. These are important for altered arts.
14. If you control Rita yourself, she is a destroyer of worlds, and ruins the games balance.
15. Estelle's AI sucks. Make sure you have Dispel and Nurse on your hotstick.
16. Capn' Karol is a great character, though once availalble, the best party is Judith, Yuri, Estelle, and Rita. I hear rumor that past level 90, Karol becomes better than Judith. Generally, the characters considered to be "the worst" are Raven and/or Repede, but the game is well balanced and all the characters are pretty good.
17. Sleep at every inn twice(especially after you've beaten the story part of a town). You'll often get a cutscene or something(voiced usually) of character interactions, or even be chased out of town by knights.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

I've been on the edge of my seat for the entire week.

That's what I want to know. I want to see how well ToV sells compared to other games in the series
First Week: Only 60K....better then Abyss first week i think anyway.

It's bad. LO got 100K first week but ToV only gets ~60K first week. What's with you 360 owners? Don't you want a diverse game library?
What did LO have that ToV didn't?
