Before in NA the Wii sales in vgchartz sells for around 120,000 consoles for week or more in this coupole of months, but now its low as 75,000?!! Whats happening? Care anyone explain? I cant figure this out...

Nintendo stockpilling for Xmas

I do see wii's in teh stores around my area... I guess it's just the slow sales of the summer... for all consoles..

I think there are two reasonable reasons ...

In most years 40% to 50% of all system sales happen between October 1st and December 31st which means that the rest of the year system sales are pretty slow; there are certain times of the year when this is noticeably worse, mainly the first 6 to 8 weeks of the year as people feel the crunch from their holiday overspending and the later summer weeks as people are focused less on playing videogames as they are on other things. On top of this, I think Nintendo may have taken advantage of the lower demand to build a tiny stockpile to get ready for the holiday push (which is only about 6 to 8 weeks away).

 But did Ninty up the production of the Wiis to 2 million to 2.5 million a month right? how come its supply constraint?

Just wait for few more weeks before jumping to conclusions or doubting them. Best just to assume a slow week or supply constrained.

 So we can see 50 percent spike of sales during September till christmas season? BTW is it also happening in other consoles not only the Wii? The low sales I mean...

People have to safe money to buy many things ,including X'mas gifts. :)

I think Nintendo is stockpiling. They know these are slow days and they have to be very careful not to put a lot of Wiis out there. Just imagine what'd happen if suddenly all stores are fulls of Wiis. What you think people from Microsoft and Sony will be saying?
