Forums - Nintendo - Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

I've been considering picking this game up for quite some time. However, I want to ask you guys if it's similar to any other particular game, so I know what it plays like. I mean, is it anything like, say, REmake gameplaywise? Or any other game, for that matter.

It's one of a kind... well from all the games I heard... when I first heard about this game, I though it would be Luigi's Mansion but more scarier.. but I was wrong...

it's one of the best gamecube games there is!

I'm positive you'll enjoy it!

It has some hack and slash type gameplay, some magic gameplay but a damn good story, damn good presentation and the sanity effects.

The sanity effects alone are worth the current cost of purchase.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Great game, buy it at once.

make sure you play with 0 sanity most of the time. If you don't, your missing the best part of the game.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

The gameplay is very straight-forward and easy to get into.  Only initially building more powerful magick spells can be cumbersome, but once built, they're saved and easily accessible.  I still say it's the best game on the GameCube and one of the greatest of all time.  A truly unique horror experience unlike any other game.  A dozen playable characters, intriguing story, excellent voice acting, downright fantastic sound if you have a good surround sound system, insanity effects, atmosphere, character development, and one of the best in-game cameras ever devised--you can't adjust it, and amazingly, you never want to.  It both perfectly captures the action while providing dramatic horror framing.

Personally, I think it's wrong to own a GameCube and not have this game.
