Forums - Nintendo - I'm going full Nintendo and it feels great.

Nice thread, unlike the other thread, you don't bash the consoles, you just simply state that you no longer find the 360 to suit your style.

Also like stated before you have a great signature.

Thanks, to be honest It's more of a get it off your chest thing than a bash the 360 or PS3 thing.  glad you like it.

That sig is funny.

Anyways you should keep an open mind about 3rd parties. I find Nintendo to be in a wierd state. "If it's not Nintendo it doesn't exist" to be a wierd mind set, but then again maybe it just speaks volumes about polish. It's also wierd that it seems a Western console is getting JRPGs. We live in strange times.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I don't know about the sig, I mean Nintendo made TONS of money on the gamecube (like they do on every system) while the Xbox lost money by the boatload. I always thought of the Gamecube as the number two system 99% of the time even when it was passed up for 3rd party games on occasion. The Gamecube was certainly number 2 if you determine success by having a sustainable profitable business model, they could sell 25 million consoles combined with a ton of first party games every generation and make money from here to the end of time.

I liked the cube a lot better then the N64, it was even my choice for some multiplayer games thanks to the ease of using 4 controllers and the design of the GC controller.

Amusing that 90% of this topic is discussion of the original poster's signature instead of the content of the original post. Good old VG Chartz forums, fixated on anything but what's being said...

It's very nice that you've decided to dedicate yourself to a single console this generation, and your wallet will doubtless thank you for it. But I do have to ask: why did you decide to tell everybody here about it?

I've come to the conclusion over the years that people should play what they enjoy and enjoy it, not worrying what others think of their decisions. If you love the Wii, great. If you love the 360, great. If you love the PS3, great. Love is good. You shouldn't feel the need to post about it on forums to justify it, though. Just my two cents on the matter.

I'm not all for derailing a topic but anyway.  I considered the Gamecube a zero because it failed to sell more units than the N64, it was in third place of last generation, and it was always seen as the kiddie console with most of my friends.  I also considered the Dreamcast a hero because it was the first to have 128-bit graphics and online play for a console game.

The kiddie console is kind of a Nintendo staple. Initially it was Genesis that pushed for the Teen Market (they actually did marketing studies where most video game playing teenagers wouldn't admit they owned a SNES instead of a Genesis). After that N64 was the kiddie console to the PS1, then Gamecube to the PS2/Xbox. If you can find anyone who thinks that of the three consoles on the market the Wii is the one that skews towards the older crowd I'd be amazed. Nintendo constantly aims for the 7-15 demographic, those they get outside that demo (usually people who started playing Nintendo systems when they were IN the 7-15 demographic) are just gravy.

Nintendo used to heavily suport this notion by doing things Sega never did, like censoring the Mortal Kombat games on the SNES heavily. The new "we'll allow Manhunt and GTA on our consoles" Nintendo is no more then a few years old. They're still a bit nanny like though, I mean friends and console codes? Come on :-/. At least they're adding voice finally though (I bet you anything it was worries about kids that kept it out this long)

There's nothing wrong with owning the kiddie console of course since its just a perception, I loved my gamecube and readily admitted to my friends I had an SNES. I just doubt Nintendo will ever be the mature console in this gen or any other, look at their E3 conference this year for a great example of that.

Wii/DS is more win.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

360 is a good console that cant be denied by anyone, but the Wii is different i think because of the VC and the controls it made me come back to gaming which i really gave up few years ago.

I had a GC and i played barely any games, now i find myself fascinated with Nintendo again.

Good sig

indeed, im always a one console owner cos then i can fully explore the library instead of only getting the most hyped games
