Forums - Nintendo - Dead Rising Chop Til You Drop in game video

A couple things.

People are being critical of things not being in a less than HALF DONE game?

-- Give the developer a chance to finish the product. That's why companies not like to show work in progress ... because people complain it does not look good.

People are being critical of a game that is built off an engine from another game?

-- Isn't that what most first-person shooters are. Everyone gets excited because its on the UE3 engine or another engine. But here we have a game on the Wii RE4 engine and people are saying "done that." Makes you go mmmmm.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Being "half done" doesn't mean everything looks like crap...

Being "half done" could mean there are still locations to make, sounds to add, some effects to add...

But with most games the engine and most graphics tend to be mostly done before they show the game, so as not to scare away all the gamers...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Needs ALOT of work ...

-Game is 40% done. Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, stop the whining.

-Zombie poodle wasn't in the original, which means new enemies (SWEET!).

-RE4-style gameplay is fucking win no matter which game it's in, and I'm seeing it here.

RE4:Wii was awesome, but had one key drawback: it was WAAAY too easy with Wiimote aiming. If DR can add the appropriate level of difficultly to counter the ease of Wiimote aiming, it'll be awesome any way you slice it.

Again, the game is 40% done. People need to remember this. I admit that Capcom is kinda being idiots for not waiting until the graphics were more polished to release footage, but still people need to get over it.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Well up to 100 zombies on screen should make sure it's not too easy.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I know DR was based around the idea of hordes upon hordes of zombies, but I can't be the only one who got far, FAR more out of the game from the battles with the psychopaths than I did simply mowing down unchallenging walls of meat.

I....don't know..it needs a lot of polish yet. It doesn't convince me so far. Resident evil 4 looks way much better than this.

I hope they improve it.

A game can improve a lot in a few months,

seriously nights went from this

to this

and lets not forget the early Conduit Screens

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a pretty bad looking video, you really need to wonder why they would show it off in that condition.

I'll say it again.

If people are going to release screens, and vidoes, guess what? It's gonna get judged.

If the game is only forty percent done, they cant be doing too much into QA testing, I mean, it's August, and if the game is coming out this year, it only has three or so months of development left.

Capcom is a capable company, but if people believe that the end product will look much better than this are going to be sorely mistaken. It will look a little bit better, but you better prepare your eyes for these visuals cause they ain't goin nowhere.
