I've played similar, and often better games highly similar to most of the games you listed, and that's the problem.  I'd rather play those older games again than spend  hundreds of dollars playing shinier, stripped down, mainstream versions.  It's just more RPGs, more FPS, and more Tekken, doing little more than what previous iterations did.  And that's ok, gaming doesn't have to follow any one person's idea of what's worthwhile, but you' made a mighty statement there.

Not to say those games will be bad, but far from shining examples of imagination, innovation or creativity.

I'd say the best era to be a gamer will be the era in which the person really got into playing games...

I started with NES.. and believe the SNES era was by far the best era for gaming...

This era is basically last gen with better graphics and less games.



If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of 360 Games I would like to have: Alan Wake

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

Are you guys serious ??? No Monkey Island... no Day of the Tentacle... no Discworld... seriously point and click is dead and gone in my book... no Wack and Ziki are going to come close to the classics... space shooters (X-Wing, Freespace) and WW1-WW2 plane simulators are down the crapper too... very sad...

Now is the best time to game. The systems are amazing and the games are just geting better and better.

if you would have to chose between a past system or this gen system which would you chose (to play that is)
i would pick this gen :/
