Forums - Nintendo - So Dead Rising may prove once and for all if the Wii could ruin an HD game.

why are people criticizing this game already? its not coming out soon, there hasnt even been video of it released

Why do you think everyone is reasonable enough to wait?

I don't think so (at OP). Wii can't match graphics with the 360 and PS3 (correct), but another thing it probably can't do is run the same physics engines and gameplay systems. Is it possible that GTA4 wasn't on the Wii because it couldn't run the euphoria engine? (apparently Force Unleashed runs that engine as well, but I've heard that 360/PS3 will be one versions and Wii/PS2 will be another). Or at least, the Wii can't run the engines without a serious downgrade.

So these days, it's not a more noticeable jump as the dimensions one from SNES to N64, but it doesn't mean it's less important.

i think the idea of the wii version was that it wouldnt be a direct port. there is going to be less enemies and lower visuals. to make up for this they will change the gameplay so that it plays like a sandbox version of RE4 eg, over the shoulder camera, IR aiming, motion for melee attacks

I like your thread and the thought you put into it Lord. Problem is it will be a moot point in the long run because I doubt it will sway fanboys' opinions.

It would be cool if it did.

Physics, perhaps. If you read the OP properly, that is implied. But gameplay systems? Gameplay hasn't changed on the HD systems. It's the Wii that has more gameplay system options.

It will be different then 360 version thats for sure, but i think it will be pretty sweet anyway. This wont be a direct port but a remake which shows that capcom are not doing a shitty job, they actually are putting some effort into it.

The screens look very impressive for a Wii Game so I don't see the problem

No, they don't.  Dead Rising, right now, looks horrible... for a Wii game.

But I haven't given up hope.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Why should we wait for this game to look better?

We judge every other game (PS360) based off of screenshots, why not this one?

And as stickball said, the game isn't Dead Rising 360, as if it was, it'd be running the same engine. It's RE4 with Dead Rising location and characters.

If this is the case though, then why release screenshots? If we're just going to wait for games to come out before we judge them. Then let's never speak of screenshots again, and let's never judge an incomplete product. That means no listening to previews, demos, hands-on, etc.

We judge based on the information given to us. Finished or not, if someone is going to release screens, demos, hands-on, etc, it will be judged, and this game or any game should not be special.

That's my take.
