Forums - Nintendo - So Dead Rising may prove once and for all if the Wii could ruin an HD game.

It's going to use the RE4 engine which honestly RE4 on the GC looks better then a lot of the first year 360 titles, so if they get it to the visual standard of RE4 with the model details it could turn out to be very impressive. Honestly I wasn't too impressed by Dead Rising on 360 but it was due to the leveling system, they could fix the gameplay and put it on Wii and it could turn out to be a great, I'll wait for some reviews or until I can check it out before I buy it.

Hmm... i don't think the wii can handle nearly as many characters onscreen at once.

Of course that also doesn't seem like a problem for 99% of games.

I mean why do people rag on games like Dynasty warriors? Cause you plow through endless enemies eaisly. People seem like they would perfer to have a few challenging opponents.

This genre... the Zombie genre is really the only one where the enemies on screen thing really matters.

Hmmm.

I don't really understand the question. DR:CTYD is not Dead Rising for the 360. It's using the RE4 engine, and not the one built for the 360 version. So that would tell me that the Wii cannot run the 360's version of Dead Rising.

Any system can run any game if your willing to sacrifice something for it. I am sure that if Konami wanted to, they could make Metal Gear Solid 4: Snakes-a-plenty for the Wii if they wanted to.

Having said that, I hope Wii fans get a very enjoyable Dead Rising game, as it was an incredible game on the 360, and I hope that the Wii version does the phenomenal game justice - and Im sure the wii version will be good.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I wouldn't call the game amazing as it had many flaws.  I am not bashing it though since my brother loved this game

Dead Rising really didn't have stunning graphics on 360. Like Perfect Dark Zero it was one of the first 360 games which were better then last gen but not by too much...

The real test will be Call of Duty 5... That's where the difference between Wii, 360, and PS3 will be noticable.

The thing is that if the Wii can't handle a game with only first year graphics, that would be the point I was trying to make.

But CoD 5 will also be a test, since it's using the CoD 4 engine.

My objections to comments about the Wii not handling games were that they were usually from fanboy bias, but especially that they were without proof. Games like DR and CoD 5 will prove one way or the other.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I think he's wondering if there is some way to cram as many zombies as the 360 did in the play area at once without it overtaxing the game.  Downgraded visuals, but different enemies.

Basically whether the wii's hardware would be able to run like... 200-400 zombie Ais at once.

why are people criticizing this game already? its not coming out soon, there hasnt even been video of it released
