Microsoft/Nintendo

Nintendo? why? at least they don't buy their way in and make good games of their own... I couldn't agree more about Microsoft though.

Buy their way in? Huh, sounds like Sony with the PS1 and 2.

How?

When Sony was first starting they bought out alot of previously Nintendo exclusives. Included were the Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear, Tales series(for PS1 anyway.), and a good bit of others. Like I said before, every console has to start somewhere. Essentially people are hating Microsoft for doing the exact same thing as Sony did when it was starting out too.

Wrong.  Sony got a lot of support from third party developers after Nintendo told them to take a hike.  As for FF, Square couldn't fit FF7 on a cartridge; Sony used discs so they were Square's best option.  As for the PS2, it had such a huge lead against the GC and Xbox when they came into the console war that developers would be ludicrous to not support it.

I just want to ask when Nintendo told them to take a hike? I knew Nintendo was arrogant int he same way sony is now, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't tell third parties to go away.

And yet.. even though the N64 sold decently you see the result - not many 3rd party games...

The ps1 was a monster...

^This doesn't mean that the N64 couldn't have been profitable.

Japanese Encephalitis?

@Jo

No its both of them.

Microsoft. They COPY idea's, and they don't care about gaming, they just want to put SONY out of the gaming buisness....

SONY and Nintendo are perfectly fine with me, and I believe SEGA would be making some amazing games right now if they were making them for their own console.

If not MS then I would say..... Epic, just because I hate Cliffy B....

Then probably EA, then Criterian can become an independant dev and i think they would most likely take their games to the ps3 as second party just like Inzomniac, Level-5, and Media Modecule. I would like to see a really amazing exclusive ps3 burnout.

Can someone tell me what this Ubisoft "boycott" is all about?
I remember logging in a while ago, and everyone had it in their sigs, I never asked why,
And now that it came up, I'm kinda wondering.

A nice breakup of EA into their separate respective companies would be good. Destroying it would cause people to lose their jobs.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
