Honestly, I think it would be pretty cool if they developed this into a new franchise. I like the way RE4 was, but it would be nice to have something like this again. If the camera angles weren't total shit like they were half the time in the old games.

That's the problem though. They have to be that shitty. They have to use dynamic camera angles so you get the best view of the surroundings, and if they pull the camera out even more, they couldn't use such closed off areas and it would turn into an isometric game.

Love to se that instead of more shooting gaming stylys. :(

This game probably would have got half the sales of RE4 in its current form.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

While RE4 was great, I would have wanted for Capcom to have stuck with this version. It's just like the other REs and I know that some people would say something negative about it, but atleast it would be more of a Resident Evil game than 4 was. I feel like they could have created a new franchise with RE4 if they called it something else. RE4 is not even scary, or a survival horror. How can it be a survival horror game when u get shit loads of bullets?

Would you really have wanted tank controls back though? Bad camera angles? That game looked like crap. Just watch as the gun can't be directly aimed at the small children dolls with knives. Who wants to play a game where you can't properly aim at enemies?

Looks good, definitely scary, and I really like the idea of the ghost. However, I would hate that game play style. The camera would piss me off. How the hell did you aim your gun in that style? I have only played RE4, so idk.

As a huge fan of the early Resident Evils, I just have to say, thank god they didn't make that game. Tank controls and pre-rendered backgrounds still after 10 years would have been the lamest thing they could have done, and really would have pushed the series into the dirt. Resident Evil needed evolution and RE4 was just that. This demo is a really pretty PSOne game.

I think you need get your eyes tested, those aren't pre-rendered backgrounds, and that isn't comparable to a PSOne game at all.

You're absolutely right. I used the wrong word. What I meant is there were still using the dynamic camera angles that change after every 20 feet where the directional pad is now flipped to whatever new direction the camera is facing, like how what was up in the last camera shot is now your new left.

Also how is this not comparable to the PSOne RE's? I see tank controls and the stiff gun controls. Watch as the gun tries to point down to shoot a doll. It isn't free roaming at all. It's that same stiff, press down to shoot in a downwards motion and up for an upwards motion shot. At least that's what the one room showed me. The hook man room looked like it might have controlled differently, so to be honest I don't know what this game was trying to accomplish.

That looked pretty cool and scary. The ghost looks annoying. Had the same problem with Silent Hill 4. Still, I'm glad they changed it into the RE4 we have today. It's definitely one of the best games I've played last gen, even though it bums me out that it isn't scary as the series used to be. Silent Hill will satisfy my horror needs. Hope Homecoming doesn't turn out like crap.

Cool find.

To me that video's style is just as much a departure for the series as the release RE 4's control scheme was. So I'm still glad the re invented the series in the way they did.

However, I'd still pay to play a game like that (horrible old RE style controls and camera issue aside)

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
