It's 39.99 at GameStop , is it worth getting? I am not a hardcore FPS gamers but I do like to play it on occassion and the split screen have me interested as I can play with my kid.

overall yes, but $40 just for splitscreen and LIVE might be a bit too much.
this is not a game for non hardcore FPS players. Find another, like the casual friendly Halo3. Your kids will love it, UT3.. not so much.
I have to say......... UT 3 is pardon my french..... a pile of turd......... i'm playing it right now and this whole protect the node and capture the flag crap that comes around like every 2 out of 3 games is just plain BORING...... avoid... trust me.... both Quake 4 AND Prey own UT 3 its just simply uninspiring
Alright, it looks like a no-sale then. (I do have Halo 3 and play with my son a lot but we are now looking for something else to play for a change)
