Forums - Nintendo - Epic: Our games don't appeal to the Wii's crowd.

i like it that epic are staright up. they dont beat about the bush and they speak what they think.

i wish more developers would be this honest about what they think about things. plus people if you dont want epic creating games on the Wii then why are you complaining that they aint.

thats like me moaning because bungie not creating any games on the PS3 then saying i dont like the games they make. if i dont like them, then why am i complaining,

^^^^ I am not saying other wii owners wouldnt like their games as i am a wii owner myself and i like their style but it was just plain funny.

Its like that scene in Crash(2004) where Ludacris complained that the waitress didnt bring him coffee becuz she thought he wasn't gonn tip and as a result he didn't leave one.

On Topic let developers choose their consoles nothing wrong with that at all IMO. Im not offended by their comments about wii owners but i could see others would be becuz wii owners are always looked down upon as less dedicated gamers.

Epic ARE assholes.

Luckily I don't care for whatever they make so I wouldn't buy it anyway.

I just found this funny cuz this is the exact reason mentioned in the article as to why the game won't be on wii.

Except...I'm just one person. I wouldn't care for their games, but who said others won't?

epic create realistic looking violent games. if someone really wanted these kind of games then they would have brought a ps3 or a 360, not the Wii. thats like going to a high end designer shop to buy really cheap puma trainers.

If you read the OP obieslut, rather than spout more shit, you will know that the actual thing going on is the way he dismisses the Wii and its owners, not the fact that their dirty games arent coming to the Wii.

No Wii games from Epic is no loss.

Hear hear. They're partially wrong on their comments, naturally, but this time I really don't mind.

So processing power equal demographics... Man, the reality denial is deep here. Games people know about and want equal good sales. If Epic makes good games, but make sure people know about them, they will sell, no matter what system. I still have yet to see that disproved anywhere.

I've seen it denied, but that's not disproving it.

But seriously, Epic doesn't need their games on the Wii to make money. They make money every time the Unreal Engine is licensed, and that's in too many games to count.

They do like money, they have plenty of it. Aside from Unreal engine, they have Gears, Unreal tournament, etc, and seem to be doing just fine, sans Wii.

Just in case people didn't know that epic is in great financial shape, and don't need the supposed money they'd make developing on the Wii.

I don't blame them. I couldn't imagine a stripped down Gears on the Wii. Most Wii owners that are serious gamers own a PS3 or 360 so there's no harm in the way they dismiss the Wii.

Listen to the man: he's right. In fact, Epic would lose massive amounts of cash if Wii development really took off, since they're making their killing off the middleware that HD costs require (even that bastion of engine development, Square-Enix, has fallen to the surging HD dev costs). The more games that are made for the 360 and PS3, the more likely Epic is to profit.

Oh please tell me, Mister Mighty Tayne sir, how might I become a snobcore Serious Gamer and be just like you?

If they just stuck with that, I wouldn't mind.

If they want to claim their games won't sell, they had better have proof. So far the only Wii game with high quality system pushing graphics, AND highly polished if generic shooter gameplay, is The Conduit, and that isn't even out yet.

Okay, Metroid Prime 3 is close, but that's a platinum seller, Nintendo made or not (since not every one of their games sells a million).
