Epic is free to develop for whomever it wants. And I can see how using its current set of tools for PS3/Xbox 360/PC development makes sense.

However, the constant insults by Epic are not nor have they ever been amusing. If you used that kind of language in other contexts, it would range from offensive to illegal.

I wonder if Wii owners -- which almost outnumber PS3 and Xbox 360 owners COMBINED -- should file a class action defamation of character lawsuit against Michael Capps.

@mike: is he that guy who trashed the Wii and held up the 360 at an event once? You know the one were Matt from IGN defended it and mentioned MP3.

People insult what they fear and do not understand.

Epic and CliffyB and others who have insulted the Wii are afraid of it.
They are afraid that the video gaming to which they have become accustomed -- and from which they have profited -- is changing. They are afraid that gaming is moving away from violent first-person shooters with exacting details but a minimalist color pallet.

If I were an FPS maker, and I saw the new challenge, I would be afraid too. They feel like a steam locomotive maker when they saw diesel trains coming. They know a shift is happening. And they are being shifted away.

(And for those who think that this is entirely being done by the Wii -- think again. First of all, no genre of video gaming has ever remained on top forever. The early arcade shooters gave way to maze games gave way to platformers gave way to RPGs gave way to adventure games gave way to FPS. So the next step is coming.

Also, what is the most anticipated PS3 game -- it is not an FPS -- it is LBP.

So change is in the air -- and some will lose -- and they are afraid.

Well i say lets prove him right....Every Wii owner that has a 360 and a Ps3 don't buy their next game for each of the above consoles.

Lets see in which "crowd" they are reffering to then.

Its amazing how some people get by day after day calling people what this person calls people who prefer games that have better graphics than 98% of what is on the Wii and they never get banned, yet people who only point out that according to both Metacritic and Game Rankings, the 360 has over 100 games and the PS3 has close to 50 games that have received review scores in the 8 to 10 range while the Wii only has 18 sometimes do.

Personally I think the term Graphic Whore gets overused. I would think it would mean someone who cares only about graphics when looking at a game, but often in forums it gets turned into a phrase for people who care at all about graphics. Such as people who would rather have a game on a certain system because they want better graphics. But isn't this the exact same as someone who wants a game on the Wii because of perceived opportunity from the motion controls. Would those people then be motion control whore?

Not gona happen. Even the mediocre Unreal Tournament III sold 700k WW so far.  Gears 2 is going to sell into the millions when it comes out this holiday

Well if you hate epic as much as you say you do then i can undertsand why you are still here, just for an excuse to keep bashing them.

...Yeah. They are so sucky. It seems more like anger than not liking their product. GOW 2 will be an acceptional game. With no one to compare it to and them pushing it past the limits of GOW1 im trying to find it hard not to laugh. Part 2 is going to have amazing maps, bots, new weaponry, more characters, better multiplayer, maps and the continuation of the great but short storyline. I couldn't trade that. It's shooters like this that keep Xbox shooters on top. It's the exact way I feel about the PS3's fighters being better than anything Microsoft could pump out.
