It's rated M? Maybe that's only in Australia, because from what I've seen, I don't see Dissaster: DoC being an 'M' game. On the other hand, we know almost nothing about this game, so it could be mature.

M? Hmmm.. that's a surprise.. some on the site aren't old enough to buy the game! lol

M...I thought it was gonna be M the whole time. I mean you have some corrupt government, natural disasters, and of course violence and the occasional cursing when that happens...right?

Keep in mind that Australia has a rating system that is very different from our own: any game that's not suitable for anyone under fifteen years of age is automatically rated "M", which is the highest their system goes. So the gunplay alone is probably enough to put it over the edge down there.

If it comes out in 08 in the states, Bush will probably push for the M rating here... you know, poor government response to disasters.

Alright, Im usually silent to crap like this but I just have to speak up.

The problem with Katrina has nothing to do with the federal government but to do with Louisiana's AWFUL (now ex) state governor Kathleen Blanco and the New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin.

I see neither the specific Federal Government nor Bush being blamed in my post.  I don't see Katrina mentioned either.

Maybe I was talking about the brush fires in FL or CA that took weeks for anyone but the fire dept and the home owners to notice.

Maybe the disasters in question were the 4 hurricanes that ran through my town in 04.

Perhaps, I was referring to the 100's of thousands who are stuck in trailers, still, to this day because the federal government would rather keep a free trailer park than stick a few bucks in their pocket one time and cut them loose.

Maybe, I was talking about the disaster in Iraq?

The disaster at the gas pumps.  Where gas costs 300% of what it did 8 years ago (or 200% more, depending how you like your wording) while supply is up more than demand is.  Because, the president, the previous congress, and the Federal Reserve support a restricted market that allows for speculation in the name of free markets.

Maybe it's the disaster of the United States health care system.  Where a libertarian, like me, is going to vote Democrat because socialized medicine would be a hell of a lot better than Republicans in the pockets of HMOs who support regulation to keep prices high through creating artificial barriers to entry.

Or maybe I was talking about Katrina, and how it is the President's responsibility to maintain the readiness of the National Guard and issue a state of emergency regardless of what the governor says or thinks.  Maybe it had something to do with FEMA under Bush giving money to countless scam artists.

Maybe it was just a joke, and you need to lighten up... it's just a video game forum.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Xenosaga 1 was intriguing (the rest not as much), but I'm really curious as to what these guys have been up to. I feel like they've been inches away from super-stardom on a number of occasions but have fell just shy supposedly b/c of funding and such. Now they have no excuse.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

i want more video/screens/info/

Well, if they've rated it, then it must be pretty close to finished...

That doesn't surprise me too much (the "it's delayed because of China's earthquakes!" thing sounded like forum BS to me), but I'm thinking the problems had to be major to make them yank it at the last second like they did.

Maybe Nintendo doesn't want to release too many hits at the same time, cause this would get lost in the storm. But that's wrong if it's true. Wii needs more titles like Disaster, because Wii Fit, Wii Music, AC and MKWii are enough for casuals and gamers in general. More hardcore wouldn't hurt.

Just an assumption.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Nintendo just feels, as with E3, the only publicity they really need is mainstream publicity to sell their wholesome image. Simple as that. Doesn't mean theyre not making Disaster, Metroid, etc etc. Theyre just not selling that image. This is why that stupid fukn Daily Mail article about Madworld can be credible, although its blattantly retard in its argument.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

That's great news....... but will it get released in Australia first? :O

exactly, this is why we can see that in the second half of this year nintendo will release two hardcore games(not including disaster) 2 bridge titles and one casual(wii music) but at E3 for first party they only showed off a casual and a bridge title
