Uh dude. Dragons Quest Swords was way more successful then expected... and it's outsold every "rpg" on the PS3.
It was a bland Spinoff of a Spinoff on rails hack N slash RPG.

It's odd but the PS3 is looking to be the "King" of sRPGs.

MMORPGs are rightfully from the RPG genre. It's interesting how you approve Oblivion is an RPG, after that game being coined as a single-player MMORPG by some, due to several designs that are similar to MMORPGs.

What things define RPG's?
If we go by the literal definition where it's the player takes on the role of a character, then we might as well just go by how many games are on those systems.
If we say it has to do with the deep complicated story and the character development then again, we might as well go by how many games are on the system.
If we say leveling up, what about games that keep track and improve stats? GTA: San Andreas I believe has stats that apparently level up as you progress so is it an RPG?
So how do we define the RPG? It's one of those things I think is really hard and you just have to draw the line at some games. All MMO's are not RPG's and I wouldn't even consider any recent MMORPG as an RPG. If WoW was a single player game would you consider it an RPG? Why?

Wow are u blind? Dragon Quest did NOT do that well AT ALL! look at the darn chart! And the RPG genre is strongest for JRPGs which THE PS# HAS NONE OF SO FAR! The only RPG's period that are on the sytem right now are ports from the 360 so OF COURSE they have not sold that much...

Ah, holding down the shift key while cyber shouting: Making people look stupid since the birth of the internets.

Your PS3 list is hugely buffed for bulk, imo. For instance, your "tales of" PS3 title is unconfirmed, and then next two flagship titles are on DS(Tales of Hearts) and Wii(yet untitled 09). :(
Considering release dates, and dlc, or really not considering them at all, I think until some new RPGs are announced for the PS3, the 360 is the clear winner in this contest.
I love me some Disgaea no doubt, but The Agency or Angel Love Online? A ton of those PS3 games are filler, or MMOs. :(
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

That's why we let developers decide whether a game is an RPG or not
PS2/ps1 still pwn them all. Graphics are not gamebreakers with respect to RPGs. They're more useful in games like FPS, etc. Hell, does ToV look much better than ToA?
