When everyone said the Wii was a fad? That was last week. Even if the Wii sell 200 million, analysts will say that it is in a different market.

With the Wii lineup as of now, they are right..

Xen you really should change your sig. If there is one thing that isn't true, it's that you are a nintendo supporter.

Just because he doesnt like the lineup so far does NOT mean he doesnt like nintendo.. i mean what do they have coming out in fall Animal crossing? ill pass big time in favor of resistance 2, Socom, LBP, Tomb raider, motorstorm, Banjo (if good)  and other great games coming out for ps3/360

Anyway i agree i havent bought i wii game in a while and that prolly wont change till 2009.

well isn't it obvious? Not many teens or adults buy the wii now, it's all for lil kids and babies. Same thing is happening to the DS. Everyone I know who has a wii actually wants to get rid of it and get a 360 or ps3! So yes it is still a fad, but more like a novelty.

Now you're confusing me. First all you Sony fanboys keep saying that the Wii only appeals to pensioners and soccer moms, now it's kiddy again? And I think it's a save bet that more adults and teenagers own the Wii now than either the 360 or the PS3. Not yet combined, but that will be the case in a couple of months.

The funny thing is that everyone I know who has a PS3 is a minor. This means that not many adults have a PS3. The other case is, that one of the people I know who has a PS3 has a Wii as well. This clearly means that about 50% of the PS3-owners have a Wii. Same thing is happening to the PSP.

Right?

One final question: how can something be a novelty for almost two years?

They did a study and morepeople ages 25-36 have a ps3.

More people ages 15-24 have an xbox 360 and wii. So more older people are buying the ps3. But there are a lot of kids in all 3 systems fanbases.

It still is a fad system. A lot of people walk into a store and ask where can they get a WII and personally have NO IDEA what it does exactly. They just know by word of mouth that it is popular and is super hard to find. The system has a depressing line up of current and coming games that should make any gamer, including casual, cringe. The system is a joke to all that uphold gaming as a past-time and was a waste of 250 bones. Never the less it is indeed destroying the competition and deserves praise in that right...

And this is different from what happened with the PS1 and PS2 how?

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

The whole fad thing is annoying cause the Wii was initially doubted then continuelly doubted and is still doubted today, all whilst it makes the others look stupid in the sales charts.

Fortunately there is a selected group here, like myslef that bought the Wii day one and never had any doubts. Its a great feeling to be rewarded with the number one selling console when all of us never saw it coming.

Nintendo = Innovation = Wii

Fad or not, it has no interesting games and it's third party sales are well... shovelware. It has interesting stuff coming, but nothing that can compare to the PS3 or the 360.

And that's the weird thing about this generation.  We've never before seen a situation where the clearly dominant player has been so shunned by third parties.  It's like the developers are trying to commit financial suicide.

It may beat the competition in sales, but the competition has the better games. The PS3 lineup is much better, not to talk about the 360 lineup. The day the Wii is well supported by third parties and supported with DECENT new games from Nintendo I'll get one... very easy to find here since they barely sell.

I will give you props for that, personally played and and not my thing but could see how some people may like it.

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Last time I checked though, when I was 6 I had to ask for 20 dollars that was supposed to last me two weeks and even that was like pulling teeth from a crocodile.

Now that I've established myself I'm capable of buying 20 of those Wii's and still set a course towards the wonders of eating breakfast at starbucks, lunch at the local applebees and go out with friends or family for the night and all on my tab. Maybe's it's because I have money now... I wonder if other people have money when they get older...

With that in mind it still took my friend a while and a cheap shot to my ego to get me into buying a PS3 and hell would have to turn cold before I got an Xbox360. Now why do you think that is? Most of the best games were on PSX and PS2 as far as my opinion goes... odd.

The only recent memories I have of past Nintendo consoles is playing Smash Bros on the N64 and maybe some Melee, I definetly remember playing PSO on GC...

To me though PSX games were better than PS2 games.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Good, I'm not the only one who noticed.

Wii has the about 25% of the total number of FPS on PS3. right?  5 v 20

Wii and PS3 have the same number of FPS that have sold over a million. 2

How is this not a core system again?

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Good for you dude. I'm glad that at 31 you can do what I do at 22 and others do at 7.

But what this has to do with any console ? It's not like people are buying the Wii because of it's price as the 360 is cheaper.
