I don't know about you, but I'd rather $5.

+1. No way it'll be $5.

You realize that that wii fit is essentially a 90$ periphrial with a game included that reached 20% of wii's market base. A cheap periphrial that had a real use in games could garner lot's of support on the Wii especially if packaged with a game much like wii play has done. |
Wii-Fit cannot be compared to motion + they entirely different things Wii-Fit isn't even a peripheral the balance board is and the Wii isn't in any way dependant on Wii-Fit for the gaming experience however Motion + can improve the gaming experience it's essentialy an optional upgrade.
20% adoption is pretty low for a mandatory/important upgrade.

You wouldn't rather have it for free?
Why do you think Nintendo will sell it for $5?
Figure, Walmart, would need to make atleast $1. So we're down to $4.
The distributors would need to make at least $1. So were down to $3.
The patent holder will want atleast $1. So were down to $2.
The shipping, packing, and packaging will cost at least $1... (If you've ever had a business and looked at the cost of packaging, you will know that this is pretty cheap, compared to the fancy schmancy packaging Nintendo puts it's electronic devices in.)
So, the silicone, the circuit, the plug, the most advanced accelerometer ever put into mass market production, the plastic, the printing of Nintendo logo and FCC information, the consumer information manual that is required with all electronic devices, the safety manual, the new silicone condom thingy (to fit over the Wiimote w/ the attachment) will all cost <$1 including the labor of all those involved?
This doesn't even include any of the fixed and recurring variable costs like tooling factories, salaried employees, power, taxes, etc. etc. etc.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Lol, it's ok. I make many more mistakes than yourself, just pulling a little of the other thread in here.

@Million: As i said about the Dualshock. Or the Dualshock 3 for that matter. This shouldn't be any different upgrade.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
Nintendo said that they didn't put this in thr original wiimote because the technology cost a lot more at the time. It is true that the price is going down this technology, but you have to remember that price on this technology only recently went down. $5-$10 is asking nintendo for too much. I believe it will be about the same price of the nunchuck, if not a little more.

$15 is the maximum I'd pay for one.
I've yet to see any evidence that there are games in the works which will make use of it to the point that it'd be necessary to own one.
Also, a game that offered 4 player with it would mean $60 for outfitting all 4 Wiimotes...
"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Not yet, but they'll be coming. It may seem like just another Wii peripheral, but it's the realization of the promise we thought the Wii would bring. There will be some pretty big games using that little add-on. I promise.
