Forums - PC - Really annoying PC problem - help please

Ok so whenever I'm on AIM I get this pop-up that tries to install the "OpenMG Secure Module"

But then I get a message saying that "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable - Click OK or select an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package"

I have no clue why this keeps popping up and its driving me insane!  The only way to make it go away is to open up the Task Manager and exit it...which then also closes AIM.  This only helps for a little bit because I get the message not too long after I close it :l

I've tried googling a solution but the only thing I have come up with is that this problem occurs for other people when they try to use Sonic Sound Stage.  So I tried to open it up and yup...I get the pop up.

I'm not very tech savvy so I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should do :(

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated :D ...but if not I go back to school in a week so I guess I can have the computer resource/help department take a look at it.

...sigh...technology...who needs it :P

Do you need that program? Sonic Sound Stage? I'd just uninstall it.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Does it tell you the file or folder name it wants? You/someone might be able to find it somewhere so you can download it and point it to that path. However I also agree with Ben, if you don't really need that program, uninstalling would be easier.

No I never use it...but the message pops up randomly when I try to use AIM, which is all I really care about. I guess I could uninstall it just to see what happens, I mean it couldn't hurt.

@DeltaXIII

It says "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable - Click OK or select an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'OpenMG Secure Module.msi' in the box below"

And in the box it my choices are:
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\CLIENT\OpenMGSetup\
-or-
1

If I try and click OK with either of those I just get the same message after a few seconds

A few places suggest that the file may have been copied over when Sonic Sound Stage was installed and that it may be in a temporary folder somewhere. If just uninstalling doesn't work or if you just want to check, you could do a search for file to look for it.

According to here, http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3043, "OpenMG Secure Module is a core module required to run SonicStage and other VAIO related audio-video related software. During installation of SonicStage, temporary folders are created to store OpenMG Secure Module along with the rest of SonicStage and it should be located within C:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Local Settings\Temp\sonicext.tmp\OmgSetup. You may attempt to redirect SonicStage to the aforementioned location if it's still there. . ." so doing a search for OmgSetup might work.

I'm likely going to be gone for a few days (and maybe not be online), but I hope you get it worked out before then. If not, I can probably still try to help look into things for you when I get back.
