Forums - PC Discussion - Know any good FREE MMORPGs?

Old thread, I realize that, but I just stumbled upon Requiem: Bloodymare. It's free to play but there is an item mall for bonuses like +50% exp or skill resets and stuff. It is rated M for "extreme violence and gore, partial nudity, suggestive themes" which is what drew me to it. It's no WoW, but it actually comes very close to it. There's instances, healers, tanks, and different classes and races. The character and monster models are also very very well done. You start off fighting some very epic looking monsters, and at a lower level the freakiest one are mobs that kinda look like DOOM3's cherubs. There are people on the servers and you can group and stuff. Overall it is a very involved and indepth RPG considering it's free. It's not WoW, but hell of a lot of fun to be had.

In fact I'll go play it some more now.

World of Kung Fu

This.

World of Kung Fu is pretty awesome:

Fun

Fast paced

AoE Mob killing Heaven

Pretty easy to level from 1-35 (They have an offline and online training mode which lasts until you hit max level, where you gain 5 minutes per every hour you play or stay online and you can use those minutes to level up.  So you could log off or go away in the Qigon Temple and level up while doing it.)

Tons of things to kill and many quests to do, a lot of quests until 40 (which they are fixing! 40-80 will have a ton of new quests.)

Nice Item Mall

They always look for new ways to improve the game

GMs are actually IN the game and interact with you

GMs actually listen to you and answer your questions, there is also a live chat with GMs on the site

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

You kidding me, Maplestory? That game is shit beyond shit, even Runescape is better then that waste of time.

Its that bad? I'm glad I never tried it.

OT: I've never been able to find a good MMORPG. I know that my cousin had Guild Wars (you buy the game, then its free), and it looked fun, but I never tried it.

Mini review of Rose Online

Graphics- 9/10 cartoony animeish style with a high polygon count and very nice shiny textures

Music- 8/10 very nice music. gets a bit repetitive though

controls- 8/10 you click to move and you move there, or you used the arrow keys to move forward if you dont like pointing and clicking.

community- 9/10 very nice community

Silkroad..!

I don't generally like MMOs very much (though I like the concept of having huge amounts of players) but Atlantica Online has been decent so far. It's probably the best MMORPG I've tried so far, though I haven't played it very much (I'm only level 21, I think).

I have probably already posted in this thread, but I want to say it again: Rose Online is amazing. I played that game for 3 years and it was very fun. It deserves to be P2P imo.
