Why do people consider Harry Potter series as childish? I have noticed this, specially with people who haven't read the books.

Even the movies are pretty good... I guess people consider the series as childish because the first movie was starred by little kids.

But is a very good series... specially the last couple of books.

Because it is aimed for kids especially the first books after she founds out adults like it aswell Rowling made it more darker :).

The books are good not the movies aren't .............and I guess that people know the series more because of the movies so it could have been stereotype like a kiddie franchise.

When I watch the movie, it gives me the same feeling of boredom as when I watch a Pixar or Dreamworks movie. The movies are definitely childish, or young teen at best. The books can be read by anyone, but the general audience is composed of children. There's just no denying that.

Hell, I consider Ren & Stimpy to be a brilliant cartoon that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, but it's generally viewed as a kid's show.

i dont consider them to be childish, just poorly written trash.

The reason that it is considered a children book is because it actually got children interested in reading again.

Yeah that.

I guess they were first aimed at kids... but now the movies are PG - 13 :O
