If failure rates were really, really really, that high, why wouldn't EB be threating MS with "make them more reliable, or we drop them" or something so overtly major, that MS would be forced to ensure the consoles were better?

EB are still making money high failure rate or not, it's still a small kick in the leg to Microsoft for EB's decision to double warranty costs.

It wont be their last console. Which is a good thing, because despite high failure rates, the games are the best of any system :)

When they firstly come in the console game industry they don't try to create game
they just try to BUY Namco, Capcom AND SquareEnix !!!

These guys just have lot of money.

The best things coming on Xbox360 are Bioshock and GTAexclusive contents,
I don't think these games were previously related to Microsoft,
even more, Bioshock was suppose to be exclusive to PS3 at the begining !!!!!

They just have money, nothing more, nothing less
Note that this0 doesnt mean that Xbox360 is bad
I m sure it is a good console
But, for xbox360 hype, these console failure have to be quickly ruled out

my local EB said they get about 4/10 returns of xbxo360 so 40% lol.

Thing is I really hope they fix it case i want the xbox360. Otherwise I might jsu thave to get a PS3 when the price drop comes.

Eh, cut him a little slack.  He just loves the box. 

In all seriousness, I don't think EB is in much of a position to threaten MS.  If EB threatens to pull 360s off shelves, MS counters by pulling 360 software from EB.  The 360 does currently have the lead in the U.S. by a wide margin, and its attach rate is high, so EB would be giving up huge software revenues by doing so.
