A couple of questions:
1. How many people have actually bought this outright, and are they any good
2. most importantly, has anyone in the UK got these games will a code from anywhere. Game is listed as the official pre-order partner, but there is mention of the codes on their site
Just pre-order the game, preferably the special edition.
It'll be awesome anyway.

The pub games are free now if you pre-order Fable 2.
They are free later if you buy Fable 2 but dont pre-order it.
They cost money if you never plan on buying Fable 2.

My problem is that Lionhead have said that game is the official pre-order partner for the pub games, and they have nothing listed on their webiste
I bought them today. I didn't feel like going over to Gamestop and I had some points sitting on my account. I will pre-order the game eventually, so yeah, I wasted a little money. Honestly I don't care. It was worth it to not have to leave the house.
The pub games are cool, and I can't wait to spend some more time with them later today. Between this and Braid, I'm a happy camper as far as XBL today.

Does anyone know how you get the code when you preorder? Hypothetically, couldn't you just preorder at GAME, get the code then cancel your order?

Technically you could do that. I don't know about GAME but here at Gamestop in the US they just give you a card with a preorder code on it when you reserve. You could just cancel later or transfer the preorder to something else if you really wanted to.
I've only played Fortune's Tower and it's pretty addictive. Haven't tried any of the others yet. I don't see them as worth 800 points by themselves but still a fun distraction nonetheless.

It's 800 points for Fable II Pub Games, which is 1600 points too many if you ask me.
Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.
