Forums - Sony - I dont think Little big planet is going to do well.

Regardless of initial sales, which I personally believe could be good enough to move 1m units within the 1st month of release, the core of LBP design is such that user made content, in addition to developer tools/objects made available through the PSN Store, should ensure that the game continues to sell for as long as support, both user made and developer made, continues.

The game has the potential for endurance sales, that may end up building higher over the initial release, if the word of mouth is strong.

Most have probably noticed that the majority of the hype is coming from the press, based upon demo play, rather than through a Sony driven marketing blitz.

The fact that there are already some polarizing opinions on the concept in both extremes, typically bodes well for any new IP.

how is this game hard to play? you don't HAVE to make stages, it comes packed with them and you can bet a whole lot of other poeple will upload stages. this can cater to both hardcore and casual players in my opinon, and onimiusha12, if you're basing that theory on this thread, then you obviously skipped a few posts.

I've never heard the "hard to play" argument thrown into the ring before. The game play itself is primarily characterized by the advanced physics built into the game engine.

As far as user control goes, it's the most basic of controls: stick for movement, a jump button and a grab button. It looks ridiculously intuitive.

If that's too complicated for someone, they probably shouldn't be playing video games.

1.5 - 2 million in the first month. You heard it here first.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I agree with you. It will probably only sell 40% to existing PS3 users. Also, it will probably only shift a million or so units to new customers. Thanks for showing the light.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Toastyboy said " I dont think Little big planet is going to do well."

what Toastyboy really meant was as follows.....

Toastyboy said "i dont WANT Little big planet to do well"

you have to remeber the majic word here = WANT

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

A whole bunch of people need new sarcasm detectors.

Media Molecule will profit because sony is paying them for exclusive rights....plus the game looks freakin sweet

Well its gonna sell like anything....or not at all...doesn't look like there will be middle ground with this one.

The trait of an over hyped game, if this game had no media $$$ would you rate it? Sure its novel (ish...not 1st of its kind)...

But how much fun will it be?

I'll prolly buy it to be honest but will wait to see what everyone else thinks of it first! ;)

1/ they will make a LOT of money because the dev cost are really low

2/ there are to many good preview and feelling about the game to believe it will bomb. Just look at the PS3 owners that seem really interested by this game.

3/ I never said the "community part" (share) will be a success ...we will see

(how do I give u money ? (about my bet with you))
