360, DS, PSP flat from last year, Wii up 30%, PS3 up 10%, PS2 down 30%.

So PSP will still be greater than DS,

PS2 down 30 percent and PS3 up ten, and Wii up 30 percent (There goes someone's thread about how all-play madden wasn't selling)

So it looks like my 360 - PS3 - PSP - PS2/Wii - DS may be correct.

The Wii version of Madden 08 outsold the PSP version rather comfortabley according to VGC. Are you aware of this, or just expecting the PSP version to surge this year?

so the wii gained the exact same amount the ps2 lost?(Lost 30%, gained 30%?)

It could've taken some sales from the PS2.

The PSP has the entertainment pack with Madden NFL 09, a PSP, a 1gig memory stick, downloadable PSN game, and a UMD for 200 bucks.

Or do you not know that?

360, its an American console, with a large American user base and Madden is a game based on a game made in and basically only played in America.

Dont bring that European League crap here boy, thats just NFL training camp.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Wii version.

Last year 360 had a lead in it's installbase, unlike this year. Last year Wii version was gimped down PS2 port, while this year it seems to be the flagship title. "Call your shots" is unique feature in the Wii version, which i'd assume many PSWii and Wii60 owners would like to try out, despite possibly owning the HD version already. The all play idea should appeal to larger demographic and create good word of mouth, causing the title to have legs as Wii titles tends have those.

HAH!

the Wii version is the "flagship" title of Madden this year? WTF are you smoking (and drinking)?

I have to disagree with ioi on this one. The 360 and PS3 userbases are a good bit larger than last year, so it seems strange that 360 sales for Madden would stay flat and that PS3 sales for Madden would be under a million AGAIN.

At least two Madden games sold over 4 million on the PS2, so it seems unlikely that Madden 09 couldn't even break the 2.5 million barrier, lower userbase or not.

NCAA for 360 didn't go up from last year acording to either NPD (397.6k this year vs. 397k last year) or vgchartz. I think that at some point bigger userbase it's not really that helping. PS3 version of NCAA saw significant grow (up from 156k last year to 242.5k this year (+55%) acording to July NPD numbers) but it's not that much when one realize that PS3 userbase tripled since July 2007.

This doesn't mean that userbase mean nothing at some point and X360 version still can sell more in longer terms even without futher improvement in first week sales.

I expect Madden trends to be similar to NCAA trends.

My August NPD predictions:
X360: 900k (896.6k in August 2007)
PS3: 500k (336.2k in August 2007)

Is the TC for real? The question is pointless. The 360 is the no brainer. Anyone who suggests otherwise is delusional. EA even uses the 360 in their test booths.

how much will the regular xbox version sell?

@bbsin: I'm drinking coffee. Thanks for asking.

Well, it's the most featured version and targeted for larger demographic. In general, when you try to improve something, you add stuff and when you're gimping down, you take features away.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Easily the 360 version since the PS3 and 360 versions are both exactly the same except for one of them has achievements.
