Yes because it is so untrue that there are never any shovelware on the highest selling consoles. |
Nice sarcasm. Too bad it's misplaced. Might try reading his post too.

What does me having an NES avatar have to do with anything. What I was saying was, pretty much only crappy third party games sell on the Wii. You're blinded by that bright white of your Wii if you think otherwise. But then again, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm just basing my assumptions on the sales (or lack thereof) of Zack and Wiki, Okami, and No More Heroes. |
Yes, you're wrong.
Top selling Wii third-party games in the Americas:
|
Activision | 2,402,672 |
|
Sega | 1,735,696 |
|
Take 2 | 1,113,414 |
|
Ubisoft | 856,817 |
|
LucasArts | 844,332 |
|
Capcom | 825,382 |
|
Electronic Arts | 775,013 |
|
Electronic Arts | 719,636 |
And that's just in the top 20. Say what you will about the party games but just because you don't like it doesn't make it shovelware. That title is reserved for crap like Hooked and King of Clubs Mini-Golf and Chicken Shoot.

People always cite these same modestly successful games when they talk about third party Wii sales as if they were failures. They aren't. One of the awesome things about the Wii is that niche games like these can be published, sell a few hundred thousand units, and still make money for the publisher. Which is why you don't see point-and-click puzzle/adventures, radically stylized action/adventures, and insane parody action games on other platforms.

Yes, despite showing that third party game sell, it's still the crap about "Well Okami, Zak & Wikki, and No More Haroes flopped," line that's used, despite the fact that they have no proof the games cost more to make than their sales.

1.- A point & click adventure that sold +400k.
2.- A port of a low selling game on PS2 that sold almost the same.
3.- The best selling game of the developer.
WOW the games really flop.
Its true software sells better on the Wii then it does on PS3/360. However PS3/360 games can be sold on both platforms while it takes along time to port a game from PS3/360 to Wii. The Nintendo Wii is definatly a great place for third parties but it is still in some cases more profitable to stick to the 360/PS3. Games like GrandTheftAuto for example can ship up to 10+ million copies on PS3/360 while a soully Wii version would sell what 4-million or five million copies tops!
This chart isn't that great because porting fees make games on PS3/360 still safer for big budget titles!

You can't based how GTA IV would sell exclusively on one system based on a multiplatform release. Worse, you are completely forgetting how well they sold when they were selling (albiet timed) exclusively on the PS2.
