Forums - Nintendo - Mario Kart Wii is UNSTOPPABLE! *attempt # 2*

My only problem with it is the lack of an option for classic Battle mode, with one life and no stupid teams. Other than that, I love this game!

Yeah i was pissed about that and wasn't going to buy it... but after playing it at my friends house i reconsidered... and it's back on my games to get list.

Honestly, I just wanted to start some controversy. The most I've played of Mario Kart Wii is 20 minutes or so at a kiosk. Although I've seen lots of times when review scores were quite just (Braid for example), these ratings don't really seem fair. Hell, blame EGM. If memory serves, they gave it a worse rating then Super Mario Strikers Charged, and probably one of the lowest out of many top reviewers.

gamechronicels gave it a 4.2/10,that is just ridiculous,i cant beleive they gave it that low of a score, this proves that reviews are getting worse

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

Not much of a gamer?  You should try it -- it's a lot better and more competitive online than Halo 3, for example, and unlike Halo 3 it doesn't play/aim for you.

For some reason I had an itching to play the game again. I played it today, and I just loved it.

It is amazing. I want online more than ever.

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

I beleive it's due to the strength of the franchise coupled with the success of the Wii. Mario Kart DS has sold about 11million units so far (not sure the exact number) so Mario Kart Wii doing well comes to no surprise.

I love Mario Kart, the only thing I hate about it is;

When you hit something, you stop.
3-4 players on one screen, or 2 players on one screen online is locked at 30fps :(
Battle Mode is gimped

But the racing is solid, great to have classic and new stages, tricks work well, bikes are nice, online is smooth and amazing, Wii Wheel works great.

Its obvious its selling because it appeals to a bigger audience.
Plus, Mario titles sell very easily. I would consider Smash Bros. a Nintendo title, not a Mario.
However, when my friends always come over, casual and gamers, we always seem to have more fun with Smash Bros, I would consider that the better game.
But, better game doesn't always make sales, unfortunately.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

Mario Kart Wii is good, but Double Dash had the best game engine in my opinion. It was a bit shitty with the overpowered weapons (like Blue shells), but this one is worse. It's basically why I didn't really enjoy this one much. Why can't they only make the CPUs shoot bananas, green shells and red shells like in the old games?

With that said, I have to say I play Mario Kart DS more than MK:Wii. I love to have that little ''veteran'' advantage over the new players (yes, I'm talking about snaking).

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Tis the best mario kart ever imo, it has online, customisable item chances and you can change the difficulty of AI - making it at once the easiest MK to learn and most difficult to master.

Why should it not do well?

Also, the Wii will outsell the 64 and SNES soon, so that gives MK Wii an advantage

Deserves it. I have always thought the original was the best but the Wii version beats it. But if SMK had good online it would be a tough choice

It deserves its sales, outside of battle mode, which i haven't played more than once or twice, it is easily my favourite mario kart thus far
