Nintendo will not be able to keep this going next gen, Sony and Microsoft have learned from their mistakes and we will see an entire different war going next gen. |
1. Next generation doesn't start until we say it starts.
2. Sony domination begins Nov 2006.
3. Sony domination begins next month.
4. Sony domination begins next quarter.
5. Sony domination begins next year.
6. Sony domination begins next generation. *
* - Which according to Sony and many fanboys starts in 2016 thanks to the 10 year plan.

1) WTF are you talking about? 2) I for one have never said anything about Sony domination in my entire time on this site. 3-6) Same as above.
And based on your last sentance you completely misunderstood the idea of a 10year plan. I also don't expect Sony to "win" this gen or next gen in the sense of selling the most systems. But the succes Nintendo has seen this gen will not carry over to the next gen. Sony will not produce a system that is over $600 for the US, and over $1000 in some other countries. Microsoft will learn from this generation and based on those facts each company will produce a system that will have a greater acceptance by the gaming community.

Too bad the industry doesn't work like that.
At this point and beyond, it will be hard for anyone to challange Nintendo. The blue ocean stratigy is extremly hard for Sony and Microsoft to reproduce due to it relying heavily on well made 1st party games. Nintendo developer the Wii with that in mind from the ground up. It's has a clean look, not intimidating, a simple, yet catchy name, easy to use control scheme, and games that take advantage of all of this. This is part of the reason why Microsoft can't break into the casual market despite how hard they try.
Your like the people who said it will be hard for anyone to challenge Sony this gen (look how it turned out) every generation is effectivley a new race , yes Nintendo will have an advantage but their reputation won't save them if they have a product which doesn't apeal to the consumer. Sony has more development resources than both Microsoft and Nintendo (not combined) and are well renowned for the 1st party titles ( i'm not going to argue that their games are superior as that would just be opinion based.)
Sony's weakness is that they have killed their brand name.
lol I seriously dought that , 120 million PS2's , outselling it's main competitor worldwide with a higher price point is mainly due the playstation brand . I'll admit the playstation band has declined in status but it's far from "killed". Sony's weakness is that they've released an overly expensive console which doesn't apeal to the new demograpic that nintendo discovered ( to put it simply).
They are in a possition of weakness right now with buyers and a PS4 will harder to push.
No , no and no ..... Sony will have to do what nintendo did learn from their mistakes, re-evaluate their strategies , and change . Selling a PS4 which apeals to it's target audience or creates new audiences won't be a challenge if they get the right formula , no one ever said "oh look how bad the GC did there's no way in hell i'm buying a Wii even if it has games i do like".
however, not only that, but they have scared away third parties. This generation, they are finding it much more profitable to make a game with a XBox version, or produce a game for the Handhelds or Wii. When Sony first started, they had the upperhand on Nintendo by not trying to take 3rd parties for all their worth and basically treat them nicer. Nintendo no longer does that, tand these third parties are being won over by Microsoft and Nintendo. It will be much harder to win them back. Not to mention they are losing their bond with Sony which was kept due to better threatment and more chances to make money. Now it's harder to make a PS3 game and there are better alternatives. Even if Sony goes back to the PS2 modle, it will be hard to reverse the damage done by the PS3.
This last part was very confusing , stop talking about this damage garbage it's not true , the PS3 has not "damaged" anything i'll agree that it's put them in a bad position but Sony's future prospects are still intact. Developers will always go with the most viable option they did it last gen , this gen and will do it in generations to come. I really wish i hadn't taken the time to respond to this analysis i stupidly assumed it would be good because it was long.
