Forums - Nintendo - Who wants to hear my game reviews?

hmm... actually more support for this than I was honestly expecting. Sky Render's point is well taken though. I don't have video capture, so unless I spent hours searching for just the right video clips and images, all you'd end up with is a video of me talking.
Cliche's and stereotypes aside, the typical internet browsing gamer does seem to have a slightly shorter attention span than what I'd likely to be able to hook into at this point, especially since I'm not really trying to be witty about these reviews as much as informative.

So I think at this point, text it is. Hopefully I'll be able to grab a couple images to spruce things up a bit though. Now the only question is WHICH of the games I had should I review?

I've already done a short segment on the multiplayer aspects of Mario Galaxy, various stuff comparing Zelda games, and of course in depth looks into Brawl and the the subtle nuances of it's strategy, but I don't think I've done a full out review on any game.
Any requests for the first game I review?

I picked this game. It is in your game collection, right.

Ok, enough joking. Just make a poll or something.

I already wrote the game summary for that one. I can't do a review for it cause it's too spec heavy for my computer to run it, so I'm just keeping it until I finally get a computer powerful enough to let me play it.

1... 2... 3...

NOT IT!

In all honesty, it sounds like a good idea. I was actually thinking about something similar to the 'price based review', but my model was a little simpler. Just go with a review like normal, and end with "I'd buy this game if it cost X dollars american (or whatever) I think it works better because you don't have to take into account when the review is read. Like, what happens if they release a game for the 360 that costs the full 60$, and you review it and give it a -30$ because it wasn't that great but still pretty fun, and then a year later somebody sees it in the used section of the game store for 25$, doesn't know about it, finds your review and thinks "-30? Man, this game sucks" and doesn't buy it.

Plus, the original system penalizes games like Rockband which sell for ridiculous amounts. Example: I don't think rockband is worth the full 180$ (or however much it costs) but think it might be worth 100$. Does that make it worse than a game for the 360 that is so bad that I would not take it no matter how much it costs. (-60$ compared to the -80$ for the rock band pack?)

Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.

Acolyte of Disruption

Actually I was planning on doing my reviews that way. but then also providing current price listings along with that, both used and not used, to give an idea of the current viability of purchasing the game. If you just want to know how good teh game is, then go by the letter grades. By having this review method, I can just simply grade games based on how good the games are and not be acting like a C game deserves and F simply because it's selling at the same price as many A rank games.

As for the issue with guitar hero, that implies that I'm ever going to own or review that game. I love DDR, but guitar hero and rock band just aren't my thing. Also, i would likely review each part of a packin game separately for the pricing, so when I said "I'd pay this much for the game" and compared that the the current selling price, I would first exclude the price of what the packin would sell for separately.
