Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto To Give Keynote at Japan Developers Conference

:( i want miyamoto to speak about games that gamers care about not shovelware that is giving nintendo a bad image. according to every site wii music was the worst game of E3 even for IGN.

what a stupid decision from nintendo, rather than encourage 3rd partys to increase their core suppor they ecourage them to make silly games with no gameplay at all. Im very disappointed in nintendo and the 3 paryts

Yeah Nintendo sucks hard. Just look at them confirm Pikmin 3, A new Mario, and a new Zelda in developement. Then give us Wario Land, Fatal Frame, Animal Crossing, and maybe a few 1st party Wiiware games for the rest of this year. Nintenod isn't giving 3rd parties a free christmas without competition with Nintendo games. They just think the core suck and won't release Zelda, Pikmin, and Mario until next year. We have to have a  Pikmin Zelda Mario, Super Smash Bros, and a Mario Kart in the same year or we will die. Oh and those crappy casual third party games like little king story, Deadly Creatures, De Blob, Mushroom Men, Call of Duty World at War, Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New world, Dead Rising etc this year are pissing me off. And Next year we get The Conduit, Mad World, Monster Hunter 3, Fragile, Arc Rise Fantasia, Oburo Muramasa Youtoudon, etc. All of those crappy games from third parties. How dare they.  /sarcasm

why care so much about the casuals? they are guilty now of losing a huge chunk of the core audience from the GC era, people bought a 360 or a PS3, mostly 360 because of the lack of games on the wii and ps3. wii offers almost nothing so far compared to 360 and people shouldnt wait years for games to come... games that if multiplat are always better on the HDs. the best solution is to buy a 360 or a PC. too many few games released so far, the wii is lagging behind in terms of support and 3 partys reinforce this, I just wish nintendo hadnt take such a bad decision.

Maybe a good business decision but a very bad decision on the path the company is going to follow. the true gaming machines will be the hd consoles this gen while wii will focus on games that require no gameplay skills (like the majority of wii games so far). I always said the wii is a missed opportunity as nintendo should have focused on both hardcore and casuals, not just casuals and their franchise fans. they needed to get more 3 partys games and avoid what happend in the previous 2 gens. but they didnt.

IMO next gen, with the current image they have no core gamer will buy one just maybe nintendo fans if they hadnt lost them by then.

Well, if his speech focuses on Wii-related development in *some* way that is making 3rd parties pay attention *at all*, I am all for it.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

GO play the HARDEST game this generation Fire Emblem and then tell me that Wii games require no Skill. ALso you are doing nothing to persuade me that HD consoles are superior to the Wii, so you should just stop.

why should all wii owners buy the few games available, thats not why i bought the wii for.I dont like srpgs so I wont play fire emblem. Theres just too few original games, a lot of ports and a lot of shovelware. Wii deserves better... but it wont happen this gen im afraid.

Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess(A port, but released on the same day as the GC version), Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Strikers Charged Metroid Prime 3, Boom Blox, Zack & Wiki, Super Paper Mario, No More Heroes, Mario Kart Wii, Trauma Center:Second Opinion, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Trauma Center: New Blood, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Medal of HOnor Heroes 2, Chocobo's Dungeon ,Excite Truck, Battalion Wars 2, Lost Winds and Elebits are all 'Core'(by my definition) games on the Wii that aren't ports with Average-AAA reviews.

Ports that are of high quality that you may played or may not have played are Resident Evil 4(definitive Version), Okami, Bully Scholorship Edition, The Godfather: Backhand Edition

That is a total of  24 games in 21 months. That means about 1 game a month. There are also a few casual games you may be interested in like Guitar hero or Sport games.

Now future games that look good are De Blob,  Fatal Frame, Wario Land Shake it, Call of Duty WoW, The Force Unleashed, Star Wars Clone Wars, Deadly Creatures, Dead Rising, Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World,Tenchu 4, Little King Story, and imo Animal Crossing. Those are just games this year.

Next yerar there is the Conduit, Mad World, Spyborgs, Sky Crawlers, Arc Rise Fantasia, Monster Hunter 3, Most likely Pikmin, Zelda, and/or Mario, Sonic and the Black Knight, Disaster Day of Crisis, Fragile, Oboro Muramasa Youtouden, Spore, Rune Factory Frontier, Monster Hunter 3, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers. That is only what is ANOUNCED. SO whatever you say I'm happy with my wii becase after about 2 years I have more games for my wii than my Gamecube.

Edit: By the way. Almost all of those are exclusive with the exception of a few.

we dont really know when the games i only bolded are really coming.

Games in italic are games that are rumoured to be in trouble being developed and that we have no clue about! like rygar or sadness for example.

games underlined are games that arent officially anounced, only miyamoto said the teams are working. First of all how do you know they will be Wii games and not DS? second they could be working on a new project that is probably casual.

and fatal frame isnt even announced for north america this year

But the first years support was only from nintendo. third parties made quick games, this year support has been really bad save for ssbb, mario kart and no more heroes. 3 games in 8 months... is that what you can call good support? devs included nintendo arent trying, THEY NEED TO TRY HARDER TO SEE THE RESULTS.

@Gorgory
The conduit was announced for Quarter 1 2009, and will be releasing in 7 and a half months according to high voltage.
Mad World , Spyborgs , Monster Hunter 3 were all announced for 2009.

Spore Was anounced for 2008 but delayed.

Crystal Bearers I know personally is in developement, and they mentioned it in march.

Pikmin(miyamoto said they were making pikmin). What else would the Mario and Zelda teams work on? Iwata mentioned them btw.  At least one of them will be here 2009.

Oburo Muramas Youtouden's developers announced a publisher 2 months ago.

Disaster Day of Crisis was about to be released in Japan June 3 but was delayed which means its still in developement.

The rest are so far in development I'm almost positive they will be here sometime in 2009. The only ones that I'm not too sure about are SOnic and the Black Knight, and maybe Arc Rise Fantasia(but they said graphics were 33% done 3 months ago so I'm sure it will be done by the time of 2009.)

Edit: As for support this year. Just look at the upcoming 3rd party games I mentioned.

Im afraid of game being announced and then completely left there to die. Im basing this on a lot of announcements made before the wii launched that we still no nothing about or were just tech demos or were canceled or posponed indefinitely.

devs need to make a little effort not just let games die halfway through. call me a pessimist but thats how i feel after 2 years of promises, very much like ps3 fans may feel after many delays and cancellations.

In your last paragraph. One issue. Outside of The Conduit, we know nothing about these games. They either haven't been shown or we haven't seen anything on them in months.
