Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 fell in week-to-week figures in the latest Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the PS3 sold 9,508 units between July 28 and Aug. 3, a decrease from 10,692 units the week prior.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 increased for the fourth consecutive week in Japan on higher demand for the product.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 5,359 between July 28 and Aug. 3, an increase from 4,941 units and a boost from 3,807 units three weeks prior.

Nintendo Co.'s Wii kept a 40,000-unit per week sales figure in the latest Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Wii sold 41,109 units between July 28 and Aug. 3, an increase from 41,024 units the week prior.

Woo, that kind of incrase in sales for a console its pretty weird, good for microsoft, this week will be better than ps3 without a doubt, maybe betewn 20 and 25 k.

its not like the xbox360 will ever be big but oh well... its a big title and and a chance next week

A shift of about a thousand units weekly doesn't seem like it's worth writing an article about. Regardless, the Wii consistently keeps steady in the 40k range.
