Forums - Nintendo - Why? Seriously? Third Parties have problems...

(These are all upcoming PS2 games)

Why not port them to Wii?  I know they would only sell 200-300k copies, but it can't possibly cost that much to port them, and they probably wouldn't sell much more on PS2 anyway.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

If you want my opinion, I'm still surprised the PS2 even gets support now! o_o

Or Sony bought the exclusivity for the non-HD consoles (sorry, had to).

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

That would be good tests on Wii third party sales, probably much better than the current ps2 ports.(other than Okami

I'm also very surprised that the PS2 is still getting new games.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

I don't care if their good ports.  I'm talking more from a sales perspective.

200k * $20(revenue low end) = 4 million.  It would not cost 4 million to port it from PS2.

If EA announced Mercanaries 2, they would be moved up the list of favorite publishers on Wii.

Yakuza 2 is an upcoming PS2 game? Did I miss something, or are you talking about an American and/or PAL release?

American Releases. Yakuza 2 is not out in the US.

I think its because they still want to milk the PS2 since it got the largest user base and still selling?

That's a good point you got there. From financial standpoint it's quite interesting. But i'm assuming now, that the developer knows that the Wii owners are largely former PS2 owners, when a port could eat away PS2 versions sales.
The ports that have been discussed here so far have been mostly higher profile games, which didn't do as expected on PS2 or simultanous releases with PS2 and Wii (such as Manhunt 2 and Nitrobike). Manhunt 2 Wii outsold the PS2 version (?) but i don't know about Nitrobike. But it's still a question that what kind of numbers the PS2 version would have had without the Wii version.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

That is a good point.

How much would Wii versions of these eat into PS2 sales?  I don't think it would be significant.

I do think simultaneous release is very important, and companies keep screwing that up too.
