But i'm assuming now, that the developer knows that the Wii owners are largely former PS2 owners, when a port could eat away PS2 versions sales. The ports that have been discussed here so far have been mostly higher profile games, which didn't do as expected on PS2 or simultanous releases with PS2 and Wii (such as Manhunt 2 and Nitrobike). Manhunt 2 Wii outsold the PS2 version (?) but i don't know about Nitrobike. But it's still a question that what kind of numbers the PS2 version would have had without the Wii version. |
That is a good point.
How much would Wii versions of these eat into PS2 sales? I don't think it would be significant.
I do think simultaneous release is very important, and companies keep screwing that up too.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
