Godot said: 1 - No, it's really an hard game to begin with.
2 - It's not one of the best. Like stof said FFVI advance would be a better choice. It's one of the best game of all time and it's pretty balanced.
3 - How long is the game? 30 hours
4 - How hard is the game? It's a real bitch and it's why I don't play it nearly as much as I would otherwise. |
1. Actually, just because the game is more difficult doesn't mean he made a bad choice. He actually said that he likes hard games.
2. Twesterm is who you meant, and he actually said that "yes" he did make a good choice, and never said the game isn't one of the best. It actually is, imo, and isn't in your opinion.
I dunno how anyone could hate on FFIV DS after having actually played it(not that you hate it). The only "drawback" to this game is the increased difficulty from previous american versions, which was added for people who have already played it before. I find it refreshing, as the game isn't really all that difficult imo, anyway.
Also, IMO, FFIV always did have better music and FFVI.
Though, without a doubt, the DS remake of FFIV blows away the GBA "remake" of FFVI, even though FFVI advance is pretty good, and definitely superior to the original.
I wouldn't recommend any JRPG to a DS owner besides FFIV, atm, until they've bought FFIV DS(even TWEWY). It's the best JRPG available on the console, and possibly the best game, period, imo. Marginalizing it, especially in the potential case that you haven't played it(not saying you haven't), isn't acceptable.
You've made the mistake of comparing FFIV with FFVI. That's completely different than comparing FFIV DS with FFVI advance.
New JRPG gamers, who might not go in for retro gaming, will almost certainly prefer FFIV in every way, not to mention the massive technical advances IV DS has over VI advance. Us older guys tend to forget that not everyone has a nostalga factor, and newer gamers do perfer a less dated presentation.
That said, imo, FFIV and FFVI's places amongst the best games in the FF series, are as always, debatable.
However, even if the best game ever made is slighly better than FFIV DS, it doesn't mean that the TC made a bad choice. Quite to the contrary, he actually probably made the best possible choice, or at least the second best, and indeed I think it is very unlikely anyone who ever bought any DS game felt regret about it, seeing as how the cartridge medium resells for nearly the same price as factory seals games, not to mention that the game is possibly the best DS game, and at least in the top 20. I certainly doubt anyone who bought FFIV DS had regret. How could they?
I don't understand how anyone could tell the TC he made a bad choice. Especially when he already said he likes hard games, and it's a pretty fair assertion that at the very least FFIV DS is a top DS game. Can you explain yourself please?
