Forums - Sales - What are your Tekken 6 sales predictions?

I predict Tekken 6 will sell 500k first week.  3 million copies over its life time.

What are your Tekken 6 predictions?

No need for region breakdowns.

Less than Soul Calibur, so i'd say 2.5 million (at the very most) in its lifetime. To be very truthful because it's Only Sony's installed base buying it i'd say a healthy 1.5 to 2 Million is healthy.

Depends on whether it comes to the Xbox 360 as recent rumours suggest, and whether the port is released simultaneously.

If it comes out for the 360 I will not be buying a PS3.

Tekken has always been more popular than Soul Calibur, and even if it's not multiplat, considering SC's less than stellar debut in Japan/Europe/others, I don't think Tekken will have too hard of a time surpassing it (especially in Europe, where Tekken is very popular, if the PSN downloads of DR are any indication).

That said, fighters just aren't that lucrative anymore, so I say 2 million lifetime sales.

Tekken is a better series than Soul Calibur. I rate Tekken my second best 3D fighter series just behind Virtua Fighter series.

Watch commercialism work it's magic. The Tekken franchise might be my favorite franchise, but it hasn't sold incredibly well since Tekken 3..selling over 4.5 M copies. Ever since then it's been around or below 2 million.

1.5 mil. - 2 mil. lifetime

around 450k first week

And even with that...it's still more popular than SC. SC is looking to be about 500k between 2 different platforms on the first week, which, considering all the promotion for it, isn't really that great.

What Namco has to do is promote Tekken 6 just as much as they did SC4. This is a new gen, and with few T6 arcade machines in the U.S., people will have to buy the game to play it.

The game won't sell as well as Tekken 3 of course, but for a fighter, 2 million is decent because, as I said before, fighters just aren't that lucrative anymore. I do, however, believe that it will sell better than Tekken 5 (it's already doing better in arcades than T5, as well).

I'll grant you that it can't sell worse than Tekken 5. Tekken 5's sales came sadly because of the fact that Tekken 4 was such a flop and fans were disappointed in the series and defected to VF.
