I dunno :P I'm just not looking hard enough I guess xD If it really isn't that obvious, it's just nit-picking. I'm not sure what it is, but I REALLY get this vibe from you that you just WANT to hate Killzone 2, it might be the "sony hype", or maybe Gorilla Games raped your family, hell your reason could be a damn good one, but I'm definitely getting that feeling of hostility :P It's just a game bro ^_^

Stage, Halo series is what I would define as "average" because the mechanics behind the gameplay leave little to the imagination, you get a gun, you shoot, nothing more. At least with Resistance you get the secondary fires, which go hand in hand with the primary's, and there's just SO much strategy that you can use. Killzone 2 is looking to have the class system going for it, and I can guarantee you it will add plenty of diversity to the gameplay :P Unlike other games I've played, these titles DO have they're own system of doing things, and for that reason alone I can't say they're terribly mundane.

How is Halo average? It helped define what a console shooter was supposed to be. It pushed envelopes. Unreal did the same thing with Unreal 2004 soon after Halo. Gears of war is made with the unreal engine and thats just damn awesome. Resistance is a cookie cutter shooter, just like Killzone 2. KZ2 is extremely beautiful if viewed in HD though, i'll give them that. I'm sorry but I doubt those games can give you the gameplay fun of Halo. Thats the funniest thing i've ever heard. I've been playing FPS since Wolfenstein and Quake and Nuke 'em. Halo is nothing like those games, yet resistance holds similarity to it. KZ2 looks like a carbon copy fear with revamped graphics and armor, minus the ghosts.

they are damn shooters!, point and shot.

gameplay is the same, the only thing that changes its story that its less than 10 hours.

Halo was true step in the FPS on console. I agree.

Resistance 2 and KZ2 are still average to me. They seem so cookie cutter, besides for the 300 ft monster. but even that looked like a full on Cinematic. I'm sorry...if a 300 ft monster grabs you and throws flings you away, you're dead."

==> so u like reality ?
you should change ur avatar man ...

300ft monsters sounds like more fun than vehicles.

i love the challenge :)

Killzone 2 is adding this new "pick and mix" class system, and from the sounds of it, it's got a TON of promise ^^ The last game I played that had a system like that was Final Fantasy XI

Whaaaa? Are you kidding me? COD4 (perks and customisation), RTCW, Enemy Territory, Quake Wars, Battlefield, Shadowrun (Race systems, choosing weapons, magic and tech abilities) Team Fortress, all say hello. Class systems in First Person Shooters are nothing new and have been going on for years now. Hell, Goldeneye and Halo effectively have class systems in letting you customise virtually every game variable you can think of. Killzone 2 is bringing nothing new to shooters, online or offline.

This whole badge system for K2 is just doing what other FPS games have been doing for a good couple of generations now.

They just released the official HD version of this video.

The mp is looking really good.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

The video dbot links to does look good, but I am still more hyped for R2, still another 6 months until release anyway, so they can tighten up the framerate if you all have issues with that, I could not see anything myself

^ I have a lot of faith in Insomniac but i haven't been too impressed yet. The KZ2 stuff looks further along than some of the R2 footage I have seen. Both games will be day 1 purchases for me.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

wow multiplayer looked really fun. I loved the cloak, turrets, zapper thing and that airship.

libellule check out the original video from which that footage is taken.

It's full speed and it gets crippled from the explosion effects.

The slowdown is pretty obvious. This one's another music video but it's also full speed and shows more of that same footage

I'm sorry MrMarc, but the framerate issues aren't anywhere near what is done in slow motion in the first video. Still, the first vid looked like serious bollocks, no matter which way you slice it.

Just kiss the tip.

First off; I never saw the slowdowns, and secondly; even if they are there; "Oh noes! A Beta Build with flaws!"
A realize that a large portion of the users in here want this game to crash and burn but this is plain silly.
If you want to see choppy framerates, try Crysis, GTA IV or Need for Speed.

I just looked at those videos, and I did not see these apparent framerate flaws
