Forums - Nintendo - Wii Version of Rock Band 2 Will Be Feature-Complete

Rock Band 2 for Wii won't skimp on features

The original Rock Band on Wii was, well, not really Rock Band. It looked and played the part, but lacked a certain something. Or, rather, somethings. You know, like downloadable songs, online play, create-a-rocker, and a proper World Tour mode a la the 360 and PS3 versions. Thankfully that won't be the case with Rock Band 2.

Wired reports that the Wii version of Rock Band 2 will, according to Harmonix, be "fully-featured." In fact, this includes DLC (no word on how that's going to work storage-wise) and online play. If it's going to be a "much more competitive product" as its developers say, then we should also expect to be making music with band members of our own design and touring the world as we see fit when the game hits the stage in November.

Good to know, though it's probably just a knee-jerk reaction to Guitar Hero 4 on Wii.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

good news, for wii owners

It seems since rock band 1 sold pretty nicely on the wii. They take it more seriously.

I'm still getting GH:WT for a number of reasons including launch date.

i wonder how they will do the dlc.

Probably the same way GHIV is doing it, allowing you to save to internal memory or SD cards, and allowing you to redownload anything you bought.

About fucking time. If true, and if the GH3/4 instruments work with it, I'll definitely be picking it up now.

If they don't work, well, in that case I'll have to make a decision between RB2 and GH4, and RB will be a hard sale (Freezepop vs. already having a guitar... hmm....)

I'll wait for more information, obviously, but Harmonix definitely just stopped the downward momentum in their reputation in my eyes. We'll see if they're able to start rebuilding it, now.

(the fact that this wasn't announced with RB2 is also strange)

Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.
