I forget...did Bioshock release this gen? Oh yeah, it did release this gen...I guess MGS 4 is not the best game released this gen.

Me personally i hated the boss fights other than the one at the end with liquid and the screaming mantis one. Mgs3 had much better boss fights IMO. But this game is the best game the gen. It has great game play, storyline, graphics, sound, and i played it over again the second i finished it the first time and I'm going onto my 4th play through.

 Not a lot of it admittedly but some of it. I have never been able to get into any of the games so I didn't give it much of a chance. Given that the last 3 games completely failed to appeal to me I would say that won't change given more time with it though. Seems like a great game for those it appeals to, but not close to the best game this generation. So long as the Orange Box gets to cheat and be 5 amazing games rolled into one it is the top contender for it.

I have been saying the series is overated for over a decade now. It really shouldn't be unexpected that I would disagree with MGS4 being the best. I never managed to finish even one of the games and I have a PS2 within arms reach of where I am sitting right now. To each their own, but I will still disagree whenever someone tries to call it the best game of the generation.

Nah... Oblivion is the greatest game this gen.

I'd say Portal alone is better than MGS4. It was an actual new gameplay idea never seen before. Not rehashed gameplay connecting cool boss fights and the next 30 minute cutscene.

I've always thought Kojima was vastly overrated. I played through MGS1 on the ps1, and I watched as much of the ingame cutscenes for the rest of the games as I could stomache on youtube

I've seen about half of MGSIV at a buddy's place in the same apartment complex I'm in. He keeps trying to convince me of its greatness (its pretty weird how ever ps3 MGS fan I've come across is *desperate* to convince anyone and everyone of its greatness), and I am thoroughly unconvinced.

For PS3 titles, Killzone 2 looks like it will be a better game than MGS4 imo. Hell, Ratchet and Clank is a better game than MGS4, and I don't really like platformers.

Errr - I went from loving to liking to disliking to hating to absolutely dispising Kojima and the game in the space of 5 acts.

Funny how the ratio of cutscenes/gameplay follows that trend. I thought the story was absolute trash.

 Ok, I own all three, and I say "No it is not the best game this generation!" but I will say this it is the best game on the ps3.

Not for me, but it definitely in the top 5 console games.(Not counting Handhelds, or PC)
