Forums - Gaming - MGS4 is the greatest game this Gen no doubt!

Best game this year? Yep, but I'd put MGS4 behind several games this generation:

1. SMG

2. LoZ: TP

3. The Orange Box

4. Wii Sports (the sheer simplicity and genius)

5. BioShock

Still very good though.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Fighting Crying Wolf was the most intense battle.

lol i juss hid under the truck to the right of were the battles starts and pationtly waited about 8 mins till she gave me a clear headshot when she pulls out her ray gun ....i could easily squeeze 3 headshots in that breif moment ....the fight takes me about 45 minutes ...........oh and when i was going for the big boss emblem that was the longest part i spent in the whole game by far!!!!!

Wow. So much flaming in this thread. Sometimes, I'm glad FF XIII is multi-plat so the console bias does not factor into peoples' perception of the game. There are some obvious people in this thread that have never played the game or plan to because of the console.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

I never plan to play that game but it has nothing to do with the console. I have seen MGS1-2-3 for 30$ and I didn't buy it for my PS2. This game just doesn't interest me like it doesn't interest most people.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I am a huge fan of the MGS series, and I loved MGS4. I replayed MGS 1 and 2 more than once. I only played through MGS3 once, and I can't bring myself to pick MGS4 back up and play it a second time. It's my favorite single player game so far this generation, but I do hope that this is the end of the series and Kojima directs his talents elsewhere.

I really liked MGS4, the gameplay itself maybe is not the best I've seen but the whole game itself is truly a masterpiece on its own.
Till now I didn't think about my PS3 as a gaming system as the 360 had soooo many more excellent games but MGS4 made me change my mind over it. There's just something about it that puts it above all the other games I've played this gen, for a single player game I would put it as the best I've played for this gen yet.
Still Gears is my all time favorite, not only this gen, just soo much fun, for some reason I'm a gears addict lol :)

My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect

Hmm... I don't agree. I was very underwhelmed. I got so bored with it that I traded it in before I finished it. I thought Bioshock was a better game on the 360 and SMG was a better game on the Wii.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Wow this thread is still on fire?

Great.. Now imma get some meat to grill over this flame fest.

I just,simple,agree...MGS4 is the best game this generation...so far, obvious thing that more games that even exist could get this crown, but for me MGS4 is already the king.
