^ That's it. I've said it and I'll say it again, Kojima clearly stated that Metal Gear Solid 4 is Snake's final chapter and the end of the series as we know it, so what were people expecting?

He linked every single plot hole from the others games, and concluded the series in a very intelligent way. I was a bit disappointed by the things Big Mama said in Act 3, because I thought she just concluded the whole Patriot thing too fast (missing links from the previous MSX games), but then I was surprised that he got back on the subject with Big Boss's arrival (wow, that was unexpected by the way).

Then again, I think you have to play the other games in order to appreciate what Kojima did. I know I did! ^_^

And yeah... I did copy that whole paragraph from my thread! XD

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

My biggest dissapointement is the lack of humour in MGS4. Previous metal gear games always had this subconcious theme of humour and never took themselves too seriously... for example, when Raiden meets snake in MGS2 and says "are you going to be ok?" and snake replies "I'll be fine' and points to his infinite ammo bandana from MGS1.
Or when you are climbing the long ass ladder in mgs3 and a James Bond theme starts playing... Or when Snake is wearing the mask of that Russian generals gay lover...and the general grabs his private parts and says "Wait a minute...who are you?".

MGS4 story did not have these moments at all and did not work for me. The 3rd time Otacon starts crying over Naomi when she dies... cause he cares about her or something for having a 1 night stand with him I was lauging my ass off...what a pansy.

Well, it was crude humor - Solid Snake grabbing on the statue's ... I'll leave it right there.

Anyhow, I've played through a few acts and truth be told, it is a good game, but not one I'd even throw in the running for GOTY. Not even close.

As RocketPig stated earlier, Portal was awesome. Bioshock was the bomb. And for me, the numerous cutscenes really, really made me want to throw the Sixaxis at my LCD. I want to play the game, not sit there and have to skip cutscenes.

My personal fave, warts and all, is still Mass Effect.

There are still 8 more years 2 go... I also think littlebigplanet will be better. If sony was smart they would make it a franchise.

I was the first to say it, and I will say it again: the best game hitherto in this gen is Bioshock...I would, however, contemplate replacing it with Elder Scrolls IV.

*I have only played the 360 and PS3, so that is why I did not include Wii games*
