Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft: We Are Investing To Win In Europe

So much Europe hate.
Some people seem to have lots of problem understanding anything beyond their culture.
I'll send the hate back. We europeans strive for quality when we buy products. We believe strongly in property, and so, we want the product to last until we part with it on our own will.
I said it several time, but a product like the X360 that have a very poor reliability just doesn't cut it. Strangely enough, english-speaking countries people are oblivious of this fact. To them it's no problem.
Well, to us europeans, it's a big problem. Nintendo happens to have the same desire for quality as us europeans want. Actually, most japanese companies have this same will. Perhaps that's why we buy more japanese (or german) cars than american ones. Same for consoles : build quality. Then, tastes come into play.

european are stupid enough to be loyal to a brand name more than a product.... but they are sneaky enough to let you down first thing if they find something better....

...

Europeans are loyal to "sony" because sony is a synonym for "quality". All of their products are considered quality products, and also the reason why they sell (despite their - mostly - high price).

And EVERYONE should go for the better deal if there is one, it would be complete stupidity to stick with something inferior for no reason.

Europeans stick with sony, because it's quality. 'Nuff said.

Checked the dictionary. Sony is actually Standard Oil of New York. In Japanese it means Soni-.

Yeah, loyalty is nice. But even I had my limits as a longtime Sony fan.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

LOL SONY=quality

you just proved my point in 2 words....... Europeans think sony is quality... that's pure brand image..... that is like people buying speakers saying bose is quality high end equipment....

oh just to precise I'm European born and raised I actually lived 22 years in one of the 3 European capitals, you can't really do much more European

I think Sony (and Playstation fans) will be shocked at the inroads that Xbox 360 will make into Europe in the coming years. It wouldn't be surprising to me to see Europe turn into another America for the Xbox brand next generation.

Are you European?

Because over here, everyone wants a PS3 and shuns a Xbox.

Despite the actual German sales. Almost every guy in my class has a 360 or wants to buy one. I do know only one person in the whole 12th grade, that owns a PS3. Maybe our federal state is an exception, cause there are many Americans living in it....

I do not think they have a chance to beat them this year. Like other people said they did everything they could possible do. Also even those they have been selling more then the PS3 they have not sold well in EU at all. So it is over unless they can sell like over 100k a week before and after holiday season, but I do not think that is possible.

I live in the UK... I dont agree with you... so therefore it isnt 'everyone' is it?

And do the 6 or so million that have bought the 360 in Europe already not count for some reason?... Do they live underground perhaps?

The UK doesn't consider itself Europe most of the time, referring to it as the "mainland" or "continent" :p And I was talking about the people over here, as in "in my vicinity".

And it's a generalization since the entire thread is about "europe". I can't go "Every European aside from the ones buying Xbox's" because that would eliminate discussion.

LOL SONY=quality

you just proved my point in 2 words....... Europeans think sony is quality... that's pure brand image..... that is like people buying speakers saying bose is quality high end equipment....

That's why practically every sony product gets rated top of its class?
Or is it only because "European critics" are stupid?
