Forums - Sales - Soul Calibur 4 sells 2 million worldwide

According to Chart track SCIV was a the topo af UK (ps3 + x360). But Wii Fit was bigger than the 2 single versions.

So i suppose VGC data are correct. Not a big start for SC4 in Europe...

Both versions combined on Famitsu are <100k.  Soulcalibur is one of my favorite series but I am not believing Namco (or Kotaku) that it is sold not shipped.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Probably shipped but if it is sold thats pretty good.

                             End of 2008 Sales:

               Wii- 39 Million 360- 25Million PS3- 22 Million

                          PSN: papasmurf5721

We just got some more data in for how it sold in the Americas...looks like Namco stuffed the channel pretty hard. Still, it had a pretty big debut. Higher than I was expecting for sure. In this piece of data week one sales are only 33% to 40% of the total the stores have in stock. Not sure if thats true continent wide or not, ioi has access to more data than I do.

Does look like it sold better on Xbox 360 though unless the other data ioi has points strongly the other way.

The Game sold 400-500k its first week, roughly only one fourth of what was shipped. Gonna be alot of extra copies in the stores.

2 million shipped sounds reasonable, expect it to see alot less though sold to consumers.

Well, they will sell two million at some point.

2m shipped makes sense to me. I think Soul Calibur 1 did 1m shipped week one for Dreamcast or something like that.

Soul Calibur 2 was the first game on the new systems (PS2/Xbox/GC) and they each had exclusive characters...

SC3 was on platform only - PS2 and I don't think it had exclusive characters...

So SC4 is on new platforms again with 'exclusive' characters (or not hehe) so it seems to follow the SC2 pattern...

You are wrong ,Soul Calibur was maybe the best selling Dreamcast game ever but it didnt even hit 1 million worlwide. This is welll know ,and even in our database its at 1.01 or something like that.So no ,no 1 million shipped first day when the DC userbase wasnt even that big in Japan then and the machine hadnt been launched in US and EU yet.

Europe is not UK ,in Uk the Wii has been sold out this year for good periods and it sells way more that the other consoles ,its games too.In the rest of Europe we see the PS3 and Wii with about the same games in the Top Ten(and the wii ones are things as Wii Play and Wii Fit)...at least its like that in France ,Spain ,Portugal and Italy ...Germany is more Wii-oriented as UK but not to that degree.Well ,in most Europe the Wii isnt sold out ever and theres always lots of stock in the shops ...thats different compared to UK and US.Just extrapolating UK numbers to the rest of Europe is a practice I feel this site does a lot ,but I dont think its too accurate.

Good for namco Bandai, then. Betting Soulcalibur 5 is gonna make it then,.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

must be shipped, sales were poor in others (PS3 and 360 versions combined sold just over 100k)

Since they were barely able to sell one fourth of that their first week they'll be lucky to make that in the next six months
