Forums - Sony - Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3) Gets Great Reviews.

'Ninja Gaiden Sigma' is a japanese video game being released exclusively to the PS3. It is a remake of 'Ninja Gaiden Black' which was released on the Xbox in 2004. It follows the story of Ryu (who happens to be a ninja) and Rachel (who is a new playable character).

IGN have given the game a 9.3

Stating: "Though its core gameplay and content is more than three years old, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just as fun as the original release. Many of the new content additions and tweaks have been added for the betterment of the experience, making this clearly the best of the bunch. The sections with Rachel are reasonable fun, though pale in comparison to what it's like to take Ryu on a decapitation world tour. If you didn't like the first two releases, there's not anything here that'll draw you in. But if you're a big fan of the original, it's worth your time and money to pick up Sigma as the game has never looked better or been so refined. And if you've never played Ninja Gaiden before, you should stand in line for this one."

Metacritic also gives the game high praise scoring it a 90.

For the record, metacritic doesn't rate games.  They provide an average for all the ratings they've compiled.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

I was going to say that Steve.

Not suprised that it got a good score. I mean, how can you screw up re-making an already great game?

Its kind of like saying that "wow, RE4Wii got a great score"

Ninja Gaiden for Xbox recieved a 92.0% overall average score based on 101 reviews on Gamerankings.com. A bit better than NGS's near-89% ranking.

Either way, its still a great game that needs experienced by far more people that the few that got the chance to play it on ye olde Xbox.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

yup i going to rent it since i have the original already

Well, Sigma IS better than the original in some ways, since it actually has new content and updated graphics... REAL updated graphics, not just tiny little extra tidbits that barely make a difference. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition was just the PS2 version with widescreen, GC graphics, and 480p... not much improvement when compared to Ninja Gaiden.

it was to be expected that it got high reviews... will it sell in NA and Eu.. we'll see...
