Lets put this in perspective. When was the last time Wii sales were this low? GTA4 week.

If anybody wants a PS3, or know anybody who wants a PS3...let me know, I'll get it tax free and ship it to them...lol. There a NO shortage in my area, and can help some PS3 buyers as needed.

This obviously isn't a huge shortage (at least this week) because its only 10-25k out of the normal weekly sales, so there will be stock in some areas.

Good point and then they went right back up the next week with stronger numbers than usual.  Leetgeek, your so good at pointing out stuff like that.

Yeah but guess what. This was not GTA 4 week.

Steven: That's a favorable comparison, as the Wii sold even better than normal the week after GTA IV.

If Xbox drops below Wii's price, and they start running commercials with the cute little avatars and Viva Pinata and Lipps and all kinds of fun stuff for the younguns, we might see a shift. I'm a big believer that price is a HUGE factor in the Wii's success. It's cheap enough to be a toy compared to the other ones.

If non-gaming parents see a cheaper price tag and some fun kids stuff, they'll buy it. (See PS2 sales for evidence.)

This is true in general, but this goes double if the economy stays in rough shape. A lot of struggling families are going to find it hard to justify paying for PS3 when you've got cheaper alternatives - and if 360 is the cheapest it may have a big impact.

Depressing Wii sales....

I hope you guys know that sales numbers are going to slide even farther for the PS3 worldwide before the new model is released.

2 weeks ago my Walmart received 5 40GBs and 3 80Gbs

last week my Walmart received 3 40Gbs and no 80GBs.

this week's shipment came in last night, no idea on how many was in there.

PS3 sales actually increased this week.
