when the kids stop buying wiis so ninty can stop protect them
Next generation. Online is a huge part in gaming now and they know it but realized a bit too late.
They cant just take FC off so they'll try to make it as decent as possible this generation.
When Wii 2 comes out and the new DS they'll change it all up and make it easier and accesible I believe.

Whats N6?
I don't think that they ever will. It's Nintendo's way of cutting down on online predators.

Next gen. You can have a secure system that doesn't expose people to other players shouting racist abuse and swearing without having to go as far as using friend codes, so I think they'll have a more refined system for the next console. I bloody hope so anyway!
when they feel like it ....hopefully soon. Wii Speak mic is a step towards it in a way ...

Yawn, yes yes. We have heard this before. You love the PC but can't afford a high end gaming one. So your happy that Sony and MS are mimicking online services like GameSpy(yes GameSpy not something new) or whatever. Ok we get it. You don't like difference. You don't like experimentation. You don't like new paths to try and find better ways. You do like sticking to the tried and true rehashed thing because it's comfortable. It already proven that it works somewhat well.
My only preference for improvement is a single FC rather than the individual FC. At least when it comes to the FC a million people can be Solid Snake, Mario, Dante, Peach. Rather than Snake19343 or 1Dante1 or some other daft lameosity.
I think part of the problem is. The infrastructure is in place now. It would require a rebuild to the servers to even support the idea of a single FC.
I don't know how many Friends you can have on Live or PSN, but I did notice that with NWC you can have something like 60 per game. While small per game. It does allow you to have unlimted friends, just 60 per game. Maybe Live and PSN also support unlimited Friends. I'm not sure. You can correct me on this cause I don't know or presume to know.

I hope they stick with friend codes. Might be a pain in the rear for us adults, but I would rather have the extra protection for my kids who are 10 and 8. I dont need them to be hearing all the crap said online by some of you crazies!
Even now, I still have a dissent of letting my kids even play Pokemon online
I can respect and appreciate the need to protect young children playing online, and I even think friend codes are a good idea, in theory. However, I don't need one for every damn game! If I'm comfortable playing with this person in Brawl, what makes you think I'm not comfortable playing with them in Medal of Honour?
Although, with their 'upstreaming', and with each new first-party online game offering slightly better online features, I think we'll soon be seeing unified friend codes for all new games. I mean, think about it:
-with Battallion Wars, there was nothing.
-Then Brawl allowed you to have four preprogrammed messages for use in fights.
-Endless Ocean let you draw pictures or words with a small amount of 'ink'
-Then Mario Kart allowed you to type messages to friends between games. -Now Animal Crossing is introducing voice chat to these new players.
I think the next logical step in easing the new gamers into online play is to make it easier (somewhat) to keep playing with the same people over different games.
In fact, remove 'I think' from the previous sentence--it's true.
