This whole deal reminds me of Bioshock, and the rumors and rebuttals that went along with that. This situation will probably play out similarly.

Did the dev's deny PS3's version of Bioshock in the begining aswell?

Except that Valve has, on many occassions, expressed their hatred for the PS3.

PS3 still got a Orange Box (crappy) port. I agree with RSEagle, they denied it in the beginning after that notepad file was found that had Bioshock for PS3/360/PC, my guess is that Valve is doing the same. Maybe they are denying it so that anybody that has a PS3 and a some wat crappy PC would buy it for PC instead of waiting for a better version on the PS3 (it would be better cuz their PC wouldn't run it well...I am in that situation) and then if it does get ported to PS3, they may buy it again so it can run better.

It will be ported...

If it's a popular game, I don't doubt it will be ported. Obviously, Valve isn't going to do it and they've already admitted that they'll let EA do it if EA chooses to.

Thus, I think it's only a matter of time and if EA will be competent enough to make a good port.

Yes, you half-wit. And Konomi never said MGS4 would never be produced for x360, they just said there was no plans for it on x360.

yawn...since when does a game being popular result in it being ported?

It'll probably see the PS3 eventually, just as Dragon Age: Origins will probably see next gen consoles. Just because it's not being worked on right now doesn't mean it isn't a cashin waiting to happen.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

That's not an unreasonable assumption, but what's 90% likely is that the PS3 version either just started or isn't even being ported yet, so it's only right to say it's not in production.

It doesn't really do anybody much good to announce a PS3 version way in advance that's going to be released way after the first two versions...you can probably assume it's coming to PS3 later on, so it's your choice to buy it twice.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
