Yeah, you're right, it's not cool that RRoD is even an issue, but I think a big reason most people aren't pissed off about it is because Microsoft did the right thing and started covering RRoD for 3 years no questions asked. MS fucked up, and they're paying for it BIG TIME with this extended warranty.
You could buy a 360 used, not have receipt or warranty information, and if it RRoD'd MS would still replace it for you. Whatever else you can say about the situation, MS is offering quality customer service by handling these breakdowns/returns so well.
That's the kind of quality service I would have only expected from Nintendo.
