Wii does not need games to sell. It sells to all the young kids with the games already available and they do not care about quality. The Wii is like the new Yo-Yo.

Yo-Yos rocked hard.

A side story ...

I used to work with a guy who married a woman from Columbia and the summer after he got married they were going down to Columbia to visit her family; a large portion of the reson for this was that it is difficult (for Columbians) to travel to western countries because of the massive drug trade.

With the wedding and the travel costs they could not really afford much in the way of gifts but still wanted to get a little something for everyone (in particular all of the children). One of the things they decided to do was buy a box of Yo-Yos so that they would have plenty to give all of the children ...

When they got there and gave out the Yo-Yos to the children he soon got the reputation for being their "Rich Uncle" because for years (and years) most of the children desperately wanted Yo-Yos but their families could simply not afford such a luxurious toy.

That is a sad story (that turned out ok). No child should be denied a yo-yo.

Now, when you say hardcore, do you mean "gamers that love to play or try games of all systems and genres, whether from Sony or from Nintendo, from FPSes to Platformers to niche without any prejudice of any kind," or do you mean "egotistical, narrow-minded, self-proclaimed core gamers that love only two genres: FPSes and games with popular names"?

Haha, hear hear. Best post ever

No games?

Tales
Call of Duty 5
Guitar hero 4
Tenchu
Dead Rising
Wario Land ( a really hardcore game for me not all generic fps)
Fatal Frame 4
Fragile
Sky Crawlers
Megaman 9
Harverst Moon
Samba the amigo
Castlevania
Animal Crossing

And pspfans the ds have more piracy than your psp

No, sadly. I expect Wii Music and Animal Crossing to do really well, but I expect the few games on Wii will sell really ell thanks to the larger userbase.

360=no
Ps3=yes

Hardware or software?

Still 3rd party developers have very good offerings this year.

Proud owner of all three consoles and handhelds.

Both, because more hardware sales means more software sales.

No games?

Tales  niche series
Call of Duty 5  could be good if it has solid online
Guitar hero 4  will be the top seller on wii because of install base and appeal to casuals
Tenchu  no
Dead Rising  port
Wario Land ( a really hardcore game for me not all generic fps)  maybe good but not woth a full $50
Fatal Frame 4  next year
Fragile  ditto
Sky Crawlers  what?
Megaman 9  definitely, better not cost more than 1000 wii points though... classic controller FTW
Harverst Moon  again, niche series
Samba the amigo  port
Castlevania  spinoff fighting game designed only for fans of the series
Animal Crossing  not much different than the previous GC/DS versions, but will sell like mad, again because of casuals.

And pspfans the ds have more piracy than your psp

You forgot to mention Wii Music... but again, like Wii Fit, Animal Crossing, etc.. its designed strictly to suck money from the ill-informed casual audience's pockets, and not for the hardcore gamer who wants to play something they wont get bored of after 5 minutes.

So after all that there are NO triple-A games this holiday season from Nintendo (I don't consider Animal Crossing a triple-A title, especially since its not even that much different from the last 2 versions save for online).

And the top three titles IMO are all third party multiplatform titles... GH: World Tour, CoD5, and MegaMan 9... theres also Star Wars: TFU, Clone Wars, Ghostbusters (if that ever happens), Deadly Creatures, Lego Batman, and a few other decent third party offerings, but again most of those are third party multiplatform titles...  there's nothing that screams HUGE MUST BUY AAA GAME OF THE YEAR like there was last year with Galaxy and later Brawl.  The second half of '08 has already been a huge letdown for Wii gamers, and we're only a month in!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

It's a pretty silly question. Better to ask whether the PS3 and 360 combined can beat it.

And this probably isn't the place to ask. Your average video-game forum denizen is so far out of the mainstream that they're basically useless for macro-level analysis. It's like doing a political opinion poll, but restricting your sample to people who post on Politico or DailyKos.
