Forums - Sony - Pc games on PS3??

Hey guys.

I just noticed that operative systems can be installed on PS3, so I came with a strait-forward easy- to- respond question:

By using Windows  OS, can you actually install PC games on the PS3, and you know, use the hardware advantages to play them on maximum settings?

Around the Network

im not so sure if you could use the hardare advantages,i read that linux(i think thats the name)lets you play PC games on Ps3 but im not sure if it will max out the older games

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

wut...??

^_^

You can install (a PS3 specific) Linux on PS3, not PC designed OS.

There's 2 problems with PC games on PS3, which makes playing PC games on PS3 impossible; different hardware (PPC on PS3 and x86 on PC) and lack of RAM (256 on PS3 and gigabytes on PC). What i've heard, is that the PS3 Ubuntu works slow on PS3, not to mention if you tried to run games with it (not to mention what would happen with high settings). But the flash games (with old enough flash) should work.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

you can't do anything graphically intensive because the rsx (gpu) is locked out.
