Forums - Sony - Sony's Yoshida: Team Ico Has Something "Really, Really Good on the Way"

When I first played ICO, my heart stopped! Then when SotC came, I died all over again. The most special team in the industry. This time around I feel too that their game will sell double that of their last, and rightfully so. When it comes, I pitty the fool who will not own a PS3 and this game!

TGS baby.

I edited out all the unnecessary words for you.

Was it four year from now? or four years from 2005. I'm VERY CURIOUS!

most likely from 2005 since they use 4 year per game

2009 then?
That's not that far away.
Very curious to see what they can come up with.

That's why I said 2006. It looks to sudden if it's 2009. Well... We never know. :S

Maybe Sony finally learned it's lesson and stopped announcing games 2 years away from it's release date?
For all we know Team Ico could have been develoing this game since 2005.

They only games they did that with were the ones they annoucned at E3 to show off the ps3.  Of those, two were canceled (Getaway, Eight Days), and one is coming out soon.

Most of their other games were announced 1.5 years or less before release (Uncharted - 1.5 years, MotorStorm 2 and Resistance 2 - less than a year, MAG - less than a year, if it does indeed make it out in Spring like they say).

Seriously. I can't wait for this and the FF13 demo impressions at TGS.

Coolness. For those who have never played "Ico" or "Shadow of the Colossus" - you're missing out on two of the most amazing, atmospheric, and inventive adventure quests ever created. You may or may not like the game-play - there's relatively little combat, almost no dialogue, and lots of three-dimensional puzzle-solving. (I didn't find it frustrating, but that's just me.) But the music, scenery, controls and cut-scenes are marvelous. Basically, they're what the Zelda series might have become, if it hadn't started to repeat itself after the high-water mark of Ocarina.

They're much different from Zelda, and I can't really see Zelda ever having turned into an Ico/SotC-like series under different circumstances, but I'd love for Zelda Wii to adopt some aspects of SotC/Ico's controls.  Wander and Ico were both far more mobile than Link, and it'd be great if they could combine Link's swordplay and defensive maneuvers with Wander/Ico's general maneuverability.  Adopting (and improving upon) Agro's controls would be awesome as well (particularly adding a "trot" phase between "walk" and "gallop" :P).

Sweet! Shadow of the Colossus rocked, hope the next is just as good.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
