Forums - Sony - You know, now that I think about it, I'm very happy with my PS3.

I got my PS3 a month or so ago (whenever MGS4 came out), and initially I was rather disapointed. I ended up using it as a blu-ray player far more than a game system. Most of the "Big hits" I felt were mediocre, and uninspired. Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword, GTA4, Resistance 1, they all failed to seem like anything remotely special. Though I did enjoy Ratchet and Clank Immensely, over all I had the impression of "blah".

But looking at the next several months, I am a very happy gamer. I want Disgaea 3, Valkyrie Chronicles, Little Big Planet, Eternal Sonata, Resistance 2, Fallout 3. I'm interested in Mirror's edge, Dead Space, Prince of Persia, and Flower. The PS3 may have seemed like a waste of money initially, but this holiday season I think I'm definately going to get my money's worth out of it.

I have a ton of games for my wii, but this season is looking rather slim. there are still a handful of titles I'm looking forward too (de blob, Fatal Frame 4, Little King's Story and Tales of Symphonia 2), but overall this holiday season looks to belong to my new PS3. I'm rather happy with my little black machine now that I think about it.

I've had my PS3 since launch, but I got a Wii at about the same time you got your PS3, and I kinda feel like you. I've been very pleased with my purchase since I got it and played Galaxy and Twilight Princess. But looking ahead, I'm glad I still have a PS3 b/c there's not much at all on the horizon for Nintendo's system. The PS3 and Wii make for a great combo.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

The PS3 does have an amazing end to the year. I will definetly buy:

LittleBigPlanet
Valkyria Chronicles
Fallout 3
Prince of Persia
Mirrors Edge
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

Maybe:

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Tom Clancy's EndWar
Disgaea 3

Ive always been pleased with my PS3

And this year, resistance 2 and motorstorm 2 (amongst others) will make me happier still

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I liked too but his tastes don't necassarily align with ours. Not a big deal and nothing reallying wowing about it.

I have had a 60 gig since launch and now have a 40 gig too. Have to say that it's the single best gaming platform and piece of HW I have ever owned. This is saying a lot, as I have owned and still do, every platform since the NES.

I use it for everything, a true multimedia hub. I love the Wii too, but the lack of quality games is depressing. And, my 360 just gets played for the "must have" exclusives like Halo, which arn't many.

The PS3's music player and visualizers are the best I've used and the sound is number 1!. Plus, the awesome games line up and crazy, adictive PSN titles like Pixel Junk Eden and SSDHD make it worth a purchase alone. Soon we will have PS Life too.

Welcome aboard man. :p

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Yeah, unless you have two consoles I feel you are missing out on something, whatever mix of consoles and handhelds you prefer. Just too many good games out there this generation.

Not enough people take advantage of stuff like the PSN, XBLA, and WiiWare too. Some of those games are as good or better than many of the disc-based games.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
